I love the way you make your spouts Hsin-chuen. I have adopted this method myself and am grateful for the inspiration you've given me, not just with spouts, but with many things. THANK YOU.

This lid design if my fav, I use it for all my lidded pots. The gallery type is ok too, but not as nice. Hsin-chuen, what drew me to your pottery a few years ago, was your attention for detail, the way you finish your pots and the cleanliness of your throwing me.

Absolutely hypnotic watching you throw and your attention to detail. I one of your little teapots in my collection and adore it. Now having watched you throw it, I will appreciate even more. Thankyou for all your time posting KZbin videos, I learn so much.

Out of all your videos, the one thing I have learned much more about is making teapots Hsin, thank you for all the tips and time you have taken to video teapot videos. Teapots are my fav to make as they must be one of the mot challenging pots to make on the potter's wheel and I LOVE a challenge.

After all the years of following you, you are still one of my top people to always watch Hsin-chuen. Thank you for yet another amazing piece of artistry. "teapots" are my fav thing to make as they are such a challenge to get the balance between lid, body, handle and spout correct aren't they? I love a challenge. I like your cleanliness in throwing and you attention to detail.

Sakura Moon I couldn't in good conscious agree. However, while I don't find him as adventurous as some of my favorites, his glaze treatment is always good (never just okay or even bad) and he is always always centered, which seems to be something other ceramicists look at and say "good enough"

It's wonderful, how you spend more time on brushing your spout than to throw the hole tea pot :D Thanks for making all those fantastic videos and pottery of course .

I love how the slow spin at the end to show the final product just misses its mark to stop perfectly for the camera, you pause, and then you give the wheel a final bump to make it perfect. Its hilarious in the best way. Your work is stunning.

I really like how you finish a step, then explain what and why you are doing it. Also, I like the realtime videos, very little time laps. It helps to watch the intermediate steps involved in shaping. And I just enjoy watching you throw. Thank you :)

Your videos are purely amazing. I am going to be in AP Ceramics this upcoming year in school. My concentration is teapots. I have been watching your videos to get inspiration, ideas and to,earn how to do certain things. I really like this teapot and I will try to make something like it, but it will probably take me a few try's

@ehhblinkin Hi, please watch my video #25. Throwing / Making Mugs & Pulling / Attaching Handles. I should have addressed your question in the video. Up to day, I have uploaded 92 videos on KZbin and I numbered each video in chronicle order. I think I have covered most of the potting techniques in those videos. If not, please let me know and I might do a demo on your request.

I always enjoy watching your videos and I know you have many good tutorials. I'm wondering if there is a specific one that tells how much to angle the end of the spout for unwinding. Also, how can you tell if you have it right for pouring without dripping? Thank you so much for all your videos and help.

I notice that the rim of the pot is not flat! would be better to flatten this before trimming the pot I wonder? that must make a difference surely. Just a thought ok Hsin-chuen. This is my fav of all your teapots.

How much clay do you use to throw your teapots off the hump

I never weighted my clay when throw off the hump. The teapot this size should be less than 1 Lb of clay.

Sir, please I must know what you used to glue the spout onto the teapot? Was it just the regular clay slurry that you scrape off of your hands during throwing? or is an actual adhesive? This is EXACTLY the kind of teapot I've wanted to make for a long time and seeing how it's done had inspired e to finally try my hand at it in the ceramics class I'm going to take. Addendum: Thank you for making these videos. They are inspirational and very beautiful!

Hi there! I was wondering how you get such a uniform dryness with all of your pieces. In my school, we have a damp cabinet which really doesnt stay damp much seeing that people leave it open. my pieces always are dry on the top but never quite dry enough on the bottom. Is there a way to monitor that?
@jproteus2175
@jproteus2175 6 жыл бұрын
icgitar , you can always wrap the top in paper towels but id assume that the bottom is much thicker and wet trimming could solve some of that too

Hm, hypnotic, and master? No, im sorry, its too much long time process. You are not professional, its hobby. Its not bad work, but its too much slowly. And somwhere operations is not important and just for goog meditation feel. For me it was very, very long. I make similar tea pot to max. 20 min. And its will long time. Qvession for you ,-- you are profesional,? Its your lead work? Thank you, and good luck witch new experrens.☀
