This was the worst for me after my panic attack. Worst yet I had horrible indigestion and other IBS issues. Even after an ECG analysis which came back clear and multiple doctor visits, I still was not convinced. That’s the difference between reality, logic and our mental perceptions. A fine line between insanity and sanity. The only way to beat Cardiophobia is to exercise and demand your subconscious mind to send the heart attack or stroke. Sooner than later you would realize it’s all mental. The impending doom of a heart attack feels real, but u need to trust the medical examinations and prove to yourself you are normal. Get off the couch or your bed and go run vigorously demanding the heart attack. The feelings will be intense, the impending doom will hit, you will have a panic of intrusive thoughts but keep going and going and eventually on the other side, it’s confidence and reassurance. Trust me, u ain’t gonna die.

Bro I’m active and running running has been part of my workouts but lately when I run and maybe it’s bc I run near the nighttime but I just feel the anxiety more, before running was a relief and now it’s a nightmare after. I feel energy still and adrenaline and just chest pains and it’s horrible so I do get what u mean by demanding a heart attack but gosh it feels real. Too real. Even tho my doctor told me nothing is wrong with my heart

I suffered with this horrible anxiety symptom for almost 3 years - everything Shaan says here is bang on. It took me so much time to get over this - and the ironic thing before I got stricken with heavy anxiety going through some heavy life events, I was exercising every day and I also was drumming with the band almost every weekend - when I started getting palpitations and my heart would race or skip, it freaked the hell out of me - even after getting checked multiple times - I still believed doctors were missing something - I finally started getting back into the gym and slowly drumming again - yes, I had tons of symptoms while getting back into it slowly - but within a year I had gained back 25 pounds of muscle that I lost in my cardiophobia journey, and now I'm almost the same as where I was before this whole ordeal started - I would not wish the experience on anyone - it's horrible - but you will get through it - it just takes time and a lot of perseverance and flooding too - doing things that bring on symptoms - that is the only way I got over it. God bless anyone dealing with this - it's not for the meek.

Getting back to exercising was a good reality check for me. When I was sitting at home getting nervous about a slight heart flutter or palpitation, I was convinced something was wrong. But ironically, when I started working out hard again, my heart was totally fine and it actually did LESS palpitations and fluttering.

That’s awesome! Something sneaky to look out for: if you’re exercising to cure your anxiety, it actually reinforces it in the long term. Exercise because you truly want to, and because it’s good for you. The weird thing about anxiety is this: when we try to fix it, we reinforce it. It tells our brain that it’s a threat and a problem, and then we continue the cycle long term. It’s a paradox, but it’s true.

I do have one piece of feedback: when discussing topics like hospitals and doctors, it might be better to avoid showing related images. Many people watching your videos may already be feeling anxious, and seeing those visuals could make it harder for them. Keep it simple, just you talking and we can focus on you and your background, and what you’re saying 🙏

I had my first panic attack last year and it triggered cardiophobia but I didnt fear heart attacks. I feared cardiac arrest, what helped me get over it was learning about the heart and how simple its job is. all it does is pump blood and im only 28 so how could a healthy heart just fail to do something so simple. But man this video is great when you mentioned the constant checking of your heart rate i laughed because i did the same thing and seeing it high made me even more scared. I did the stairmaster once and when i saw my heart rate was staying in the 180s for a few minutes i got scared. logic wasnt there, of course now im like dude its an intense machine of course my heart was gonna be working that hard

I'm so glad I came across this channel. I've seen so many videos on anxiety, and yours is the best out there! For panic attacks, they can be so scary. I remember just last week I was taking a nice walk with my two dogs and I saw a neighbor who likes to chat everyone's ear off. She's sweet, but I was already having a nice walk with the doggos, and yep she came up to me "Hi! How are you?" Then she started rambling on about a bunch of random stuff. After about 5 min of her chatting my ear off, I continued on with my walk but started feeling a panic attack come on. I went from feeling relaxed to annoyed, and sometimes if I get annoyed I get panicky, depending on the situation. I felt like I couldn't breathe, and started feeling light headed. So uncomfortable. I sat down with the dogs at a nearby sitting area and took some deep breaths and focused on the dogs. That helped. But yes panic attacks are scary. Sometimes they will hit me out of nowhere once in a blue moon. Anyway, again great channel, thank you for all you do!

Recently, I had a massive panic attack that started when, after exercising, I focused on my pulse, which seemed elevated to me. I got scared. The fear further increased my heart rate, which in turn intensified my fear even more. Ultimately, this vicious cycle pushed my heart rate up to 200. My vision darkened, I began to lose consciousness, and I literally started saying goodbye to life. It was the first time in my life that I was literally sure that I was dying. Everything happened within a few minutes. Somehow, I managed to pull myself together and calm down. Nothing happened, I'm alive, it wasn't a heart attack. Now, I live in terrible anticipation of such an episode happening again, but at least I know what it is.

This happened for a couple of years, after my first panic attack. I even exercised to extremes, to see if my heart would break. After a couple of years, I realised I wasn't going to have a heart attack, and my panick attacks stopped. In the moment, best short term solution, is to lay down on a hard surface, head to side, with it resting in the crook of one arm. Slide your knee towards your head. In other words, lay out on a hard surface in the recovery position. This will stop a panic attack in its tracks, and slow down your heart rate. The hard surface is most important.

I have had palpitations and lucky for me my mother is a cardiologist. Here is what to Look for in a heart problem. Poor circulation which means the ankles and calves are going retain fluid As your heart is no longer being to do its job, it’s failing . So swollen feet, ankles and calves. You would also be tired With shortness of breath. And will need help getting to the car so you can be driven to the hospital. Chest pain Numbness in arm particularly the left arm. This is where yeah a heart attack may be coming? When something is truly wrong especially with your heart ? You will know. Your brain sends clear unmistakable messages. So relax the palpitations go away.

For those who experience this after eating certain foods or drinking certain drinks, then it could be histamine related. The next time you feel anxiety which leads to a fast heart rate, OR vice versa - try taking 10mg of a chewable Zyrtec. If your symptoms subside within 10-20 minutes, then most likely it is food related. Why food? You could have SIBO, leaky gut, H-Pylori, or all the above. All of these things leads to histamine intolerance and can cause severe symptoms. BTW, exercise can also cause histamine release and bring on these symptoms IF your histamine bucket is already full. That means that every time you break a sweat in the gym you get dizzy, have anxiety, and of course fast heart rate. Then the more you think about it the worse it gets and before you know it you are in a full blown panic attack feeling out of breath and literally feeling like you are about to die. The feeling of doom is so great that no one can understand. So, what to do? Take a 10mg Zyrtec immediately and focus on your breathing. Try to basically inhale and hold your breath for a few seconds before exhaling slowly. It will be hard at first because you will be gasping for air, but just keep trying to focus on your breathing until the Zyrtec kicks in. I've been in healthcare 30+ years trained in integrative functional medicine and hold a PhD in human physiology. Hope this helps someone!

What if situational events cause the physical anxiety response without actual anxiety. Meaning the body responds subconsciously even if consciously you feel fine

I hate getting the random symptom when I’m driving or out an event or flying. It’s been 5 years and I m really just trying to put everything under the anxiety umbrella. That adrenaline rush and cortisol is so uncomfortable.. that’s what scares me. I hate the feeling. I know it’s anxiety but man I don’t know what to do .. ??☹️
