Keep calm and carry guns 🔫💪👍 You should cover the whole top of your chicken coop with the dog wire fencing in order to keep out night visitors like opossum and raccoon. I build my chicken coop 10ft X 48ft quiescent hut style and covered with dog wire and have never had a break in including coyotes.

Man your family works together really well. You don't see this much in todays society keep up the good work. Get you a set of wire pliers and a bolt cutters so you can cut and wire those panels real easy. Those cow panels last quite a long time and they are good at keeping pigs at bay with a frame. I like your green house might want a support in the middle not sure how harsh you winters are though. Your a lucky man with such a wonderful family. Looks like they got some talent. I can't say enough on how much you two should always nurture those talents. It is cool your a mechanic I use to be a shade tree knuckle buster for a while. I hope a shop is in your plans but I am sure it is. Well you got me hooked now for a binge watch. Lol.

This is just a thought your apple crate boxes you could have cut them in half and have two for one as well as more places to grow your vegetables.

We are actually using them for making compost as well after we harvest what we get this season. Then by next season we’ll have all them boxes full of good compost. Maybe cut em down next season. We’ll see. Thanks for the advice. Have a great night!

A good use for those empty compost bags is to use them as liners for hanging baskets. I'm in Scotland and it tends to be a bit breezy here which means that any hanging baskests dry out pretty much every day unless you water them every day it doesn't rain. The plastic helps with moisture retention but make sure to put a few holes in the bottom otherwise they will go rancid and kill the plants. Strawberies tend to be a favourite target of various slugs etc so if you put them in the baskets it helps protect them and you end up with more for you to enjoy 👍

Pine needles are high in acid. blueberries blackberries, roses and hydrangeas like it. Lime is used to raise the soil PH. for other plants. Ask others in the area

It’s was actually a mix of pine and maple. Not sure why Naomi said it was all pine needles. We’ve been feeding the chickens out in that area so they they kind of scratched and mulched it all up. So it has a bit of chick poo in it as well. And then with the compost we purchased and put on top it should be fine.
