The '96 opti is clearanced for the '96 timing cover for the crank position sensor. It will fit earlier '94-95 LT1. The '94-95 opti will not sit square on the '96 w/crank position sensor. Look at the two styles from the back to see the difference. Replacement opti's were all the later design..

@The Cadillac Dan Show definitely is the hard part. Alot of the engine, trans, suspension, and steering parts aren't too bad to find, I find it harder to find body parts like headlights and trim. Oh and turn signal switch I haven't found anyone willing to ship me one yet lol so I've got to drive 5hrs. They are definitely investments. Between my fleetwood, monte and 94 chevy stepside if I get em to where I want them I'll be sitting on a nice chunk of change.

1996 optis will fit 94-95, but 94-95 will not fit the 1996 as it has a crank position sensor that requires clearance present in the 1996 opti casting. Examine the backs side by side, and it becomes more obvious.

The fuse panel cover on my 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham is in the glove box because all the tabs are broken.

At least they were nice enough to put it in the glove box instead of throwing it away. You can put velcro on the cover and the dash and stick it back on

I used a duralast from autozone when I did my opti. Saved the old one though. Supposedly the originals have Mitsubishi optical sensors inside of them.

Yes it does where it's at I'm not sure off the top of my head but it will be I'm the fuse box under the hood on the passenger side fender

Sorry for the late response I just now came across this comment next time I take a door panel off I will make a video for changing the speaker it's a pretty easy job you can watch my video on changing the window clips and it shows how to take the panel off once you have the panel off you are right there at the speaker it should just be 4 screws and a plug for the wiring

Its probably going to be the speed sensor in the tail shaft of the transmission or maybe even a damaged wire around the same area

Yeah I did on the blue rose when I was building it I used meguiars plastix they looked like new I also clear coated my tail lights they looked like glass I did have one start to peel a little on the top after 6 years but that could have been in my prep work I'm not the greatest painter

Is the check engine light on? It's a good possibility it could be either a crank shaft position sensor or ignition control module but if it has a light on I would definitely start by checking the codes
