I'm 34, and grew up with my mother making rascatielli a couple times a month, thinking it was a made up pasta name or a blend of Italian-American languages. A few years ago I came across a video of a granny making rascatielli and it blew my mind that this pasta I grew up eating all the time was in fact a real thing. I've been a fan ever since, have your books, and love seeing Teresa making this. Thank you.

These ladies walking arm in arm to get the bread brought a huge smile to me. These ladies have lead what we would now consider hard lives but their outlook remains sunny. May the traditions continue to the subsequent generations. And as always, the wine. God bless! Another joy of an episode from the best channel on KZbin. Thanks.

I love the Italian women on your show. They still dress up. They put on their jewelry and they wear nice dresses. They were beautiful aprons. I wondered if the two sisters had made the aprons they had on today. I love them both.. and I have never seen this kind of pasta that took real skill! Wow amazing. 93. While isn't she amazing she looks like she's 70. And all that hard work does the body good. This little town is picturesque and beautiful! I love pasta grannies I watch them all.❤

Ms. Teresa, Antonietta and Pina- Tre belle signore!! What a lovely video. Everyone was so welcoming, happy and fun. Mario’s pepper sauce demo was great, he was made for film! I very much liked the convo/banter between Ms Teresa & her sister Ms Antonietta. Even in their senior years, the little sister teases her elder sister and vice versa, adorable! I hope my little sister and I are just as blessed to see this many years together. Such a beautiful gift ❤ Another wonderfully entertaining and endearing “Pasta Grannies” episode 👏🏻👏🏻

Something I always think about when I watch these videos is how healthy these elderly women in Italy are. Preparing food is not simple, or easy. Cooking requires strength, endurance, time management, a good memory, etc. Right now, foods made from grains are characterized as being unhealthy. I think these women prove that the low carb diet is simply a fad and not the secret to a healthy life. And yes, I am aware that wheat grown in Italy is far superior to wheat grown in the US. I make sure that I buy Italian pasta made with Italian grain.

That topping made of breadcrumbs and spices reminds me of how vegans mock up Parmesan cheese topping with almond flour and nutritional yeast. I like the idea of trying that out as way of adding spice and texture. I think I'll try it with Cayenne pepper...

They are incredibly agile for their age and I love the idea of them teaching the young people the traditional crafts. I can't imagine even working in the kitchen with my wife, never mind my siblings. I’m going to try this recipe but to be honest I’m looking forward to the one using the crust up. I make all my own bread and there’s only two of us but my wife prefers pain de mei and or focaccia I prefer pain de campagne so we have a lot of left overs. The birds are so fat round here they can’t take off…
