Excellent how to video. Hiw many years ago it was uploaded dont matter because the instructions are timeless. The happy accident with the rounded bolt perfectly demonstrates the need for the correct tools for the job. Especially with old brake lines. Even new ones because tbey are made with soft aluminum and you WILL DEFINATELY round them shits.. Thanks and more mustang stuff Please?

After using your Cadillac Converter- it's always important to make sure the differential is aligned by using a Twerk wrench, make sure it's at least a hundred feet long.

The metal clips that go on the outside edges of the brake pads
@themechanic6117
@themechanic6117 6 жыл бұрын
They're to take up any gap that you may have so the pads don't bounce around in there. I honestly don't remember why I didn't use they unless there was non supplied in the box for me to even use . At 9:44 you can see that tried shaking the pads and there was no play. If there was I would have been concerned

@@themechanic6117 there called shim clips and they are major for vibration now you think of it as greater lesser you want the clip "eating you" and the pad on the disc or so you have to pinch it down .. kinda hard but easy as you go

man thanks for the video but I just need to leave this comment. I know hes not going to use the old calipers but please use vice grips on the e-cable wire... that bolt that hold the spring down can pop out at you very fast or even you might brake the bolt and if your not getting new calipers your in for new ones now.

Thanks for the video. Someone had told me that i would need a tool to "spin" the caliper back into the hub. But thats for 99 and up model
@themechanic6117
@themechanic6117 3 жыл бұрын
Yes some cars do require that tool
@lilmike2710
@lilmike2710 3 жыл бұрын
I must apologize. I was TOTALLY wrong.. As i got into changing brakes and rotors i realized that a caliper tool is TOTALLY necessary to compress rear caliper pistons on a 97 and related model mustang. A simple c-clamp for the front though. I should delete my incorrect comment so I dont mislead anyone. It's a pain in the ass to be already into repairs and have to go right back to the parts store. But yes, a caliper tool is needed for this application. My bad bro...

I got no problems with any of that. Just a question... Why if when a white dude would say the same thing "your proud white dude like me" do people lose they dam mind? It's as if they afraid of us... Makes no sense at All. I want EVERYONE to be proud of who they are. All i can say is that anyone who tries to tell you or anyone that whites should be ashamed should be punched square in the snot box. Because what they say is POISON. I ain't tryin to start nothin for real.. Im just sayin. We are getting tired of all that mess that the GLOBALISTS have stirred up.. And they don't care about anyone but themselves and they money 💰.. "Divide and conquer". It's a Marxist ideology meant to bring Socialism to America.. I for one would sell my life dearly to preserve Americas Liberty FOR ALL.... And I'd proudly fight next to anyone from anywhere. Especially a Latina. Because if they can fight anything like the way they can box then the enemy had better pack a lunch. Sorry but i had to get that off my chest.

I have Mustang rears on my Ranger...Anybody considering a rear brake mod -- for converting to disc brakes -- I highly recommend a proportional valve (with manual tuning capability). Reason is, my truck is 4100 lbs., a '98 stock Mustang is around 3500 lbs, give or take a couple hundred pounds. That means your conversion needs to take into account the stock weight of the donor, vs. the weight of your vehicle. Otherwise, you may wear out your pads quicker due to a heavier weight (more friction to stop a higher amount of mass).
