95 Litre Stainless Steel 4WD Water Tank TIG WELD OUT!

In this video we go over how we assemble and weld our 1.2mm Stainless Steel 4WD Water Tanks.
Prior to assembly we prep the materials by removing any unnecessary protective sticker film. Using a Tig Welder, we tack all the components of the water tank into place, starting with the internal baffle.
The unit is then welded completely water tight and then hydrostatic tested to ensure a complete seal. Lastly its polished (using the EZKLEEN EK PLUS Tig Brushing Unit) and prepped for shipping.
Our Stainless Steel Water Tanks can be mounted to any 4WD ute tub/tray to ensure a safe and secure supply of water for any adventure.

I plan on building a water tank myself for my 4x4. My question is whether to use PVC or stainless steel, If somebody has experience please respond. Thank you

I work a place and we make plastic and ally tanks mainly. But the plastic tanks are made in moulds and go through industrial ovens etc. so I’d imagine it’d be easier to make an ally or stainless tank at home in your garage

How's the backside of those welds? I can't weld stainless that thin without back purge and not get sugaring everywhere inside.

This lap weld is in 1.5mm stainless. 1 side is raw edge fusing to a folded egde. There is penatration into the material but no sugaring on the back side. Practice makes perfect. 👌

Did you purge the tank with Argon for the full welds, or do you find you don't need to? Thanks
