96 Ford Explorer airflow problem

Diagnosis of 1996 Ford Explorer cabin airflow problem. A broken vacuum line caused the airflow to switch from the dash to the defroster during acceleration or high load conditions.

Just want you to know that your video was spot on! I had exactly the same problem! now is a thing of the past! I knew it was a vacuum problem and thought I would have to go under the dashboard! Keep up the good work! God bless you!

I happened to click on your video by mistakebut actually turned out to be a success I had that problem going on with my AC. Blowing cold but not coming out the air vent..and I saw that my same line was broken..thanks for this video..

I hope this works because I’m not getting any air from the front vents only the defrost vents. I replaced the blend door actuator. I have no problem with the accelerator.

My ac max won't work just regular ac. Found out my tub is broke too but it's worse than that. Ita so dry rotted and it's broken in 3 different places. Might have to replace to the whole tubing myself

time for and engine cleaning. really we should replace our hoses and belts more often in Arizona, cause of the extream heat.

My dash vents at the stereo are not blowing anything, my ac blows cold out the side vents on the Max ac setting, on the regular ac setting it blows hot air, but the compressor still cycles. Could this be my problem too? 🤔

Sounds like you have multiple issues.

I have a 96 explorer. About a month ago I started having no airflow from my front vents, only the defrost. Any suggestions as to what this can be? I need my vents to work as it is very cold here. Thanks for any suggestions.

You need to check the vaccines lines as I did and look for crack or breaks. In my video I show where I found my break and how I fixed it. I would start there.

You can order it on Amazon or eBay. You can go to Grainger or other industrial suppliers. Tygon is just what I had but a rubber vacuum hose will work fine. Most auto parts and farm & home stores sell various hoses and vacuum lines.

What if the line is fine what could it be.

It would still be a vacuum leak in the system. A line or component which is not holding a vacuum.
