96 LT1 TorqHead install test n tune with HPTuners

Basic TorqHead 24x LS1 PCM with 1 coil-per-cylinder set up and installation.
Then a day full of testing and tuning. Fun car. Bone Stock LT1. The rest of the car is read and set for future modifications to the engine. In the end it looks like i need to check the fuel system. Check back in a few days or weeks to see if I get it right.
Update 4-13-2022: More tuning and I figured out the knock learn factor being down at 0.0 and my hunch was in needed a full flash. That fixed it. It now has knock learn factor at 1.0 and that means it is high octane knock table times 1.0 = full high octane spark values.
Also added a few % to the MAF tables and the wide band at WOT came in at 13.0 but the MAP is going craze. It gets lower as the RPM raise. I've seen that many times on LS cars and wonder now that there is something I'm missing.

Future plans is to have you rebuild the LT1 motor in my Caprice to a nice conservative 355cid. I got older, I prefer highway cruising and still like a little stop light action and get her on the dyno.

My 94 Caprice 9C1 has been sitting in the garage not running for 6 years now because of the stupid optispark crashed. I will wait longer to get the TorqueHead system instead of getting another optispark distributor. The stock LT1 is all stock except for Hooker headers and bigger dual exhaust system.

Not always. Depends on each car. I spend a lot more time on MAF and then do a few tweaks on VE to make sure it is in the ballpark.

Oh yes! It is a clean custom set up. Long tube Kooks headers and dual 3" to dumps right at the rear axle. The muffs? I don't know the brand,

Are you noticing an increase in power from replacing the opti to the TorqHead and the PCM upgrade @Karl? Im may do the switch once my opti givesway.

I have not noticed. The cars usually always run smoother because the opti or other ignition things were not helping in the old set up. The swap to TH gets a fresh set plugs and wires and so a strong reliable ignition.

I was curious as well. Iv been running my opti since 2010 on my 94 impala 🤞 Ac Delco lives up to its name, the back up has been on standby & well, they certainly do not make em like they use to. Rock on 😎 💯🇺🇸

No. No opti spark. the 1 coil per cyl. TorqHead system
