I recommend a thin coat of rtv on both sides of the gasket and the rubber pass through for the wires to prevent leaks onto the exhaust

If your going to do oil I would do it after gasket replacement not before.

Jump start it first and see if it cranks over. If cranks but doesn't start then check spark and fuel
