Your video helped me out a lot thanks!!! Was able to get it out nice and easy but the installation was a bit complicated. Did you have any issues with the shifting? Or needed to adjust the cable?
@Demosworld8 ай бұрын
You will have to adjust the cable yes, cause each vehicle wears differently throughout its life cycle so adjustment is required.

My man, thank you for doing the foot work on this task. Your video is greatly appreciated. One question. What was the problem you were having with the A/T shifter.

My cable had frayed through the jacket and snapped due to rust, however it also had some slop, It can be adjusted out though

@@Demosworld haven't inspected mine yet.but I'm worried it ain't the cable because it popped out of gear at a red light and when I moved the column shifter I heard grinding like you would expect to here from a manual transmission not a Automatic transmission. I'm going to inspect it tomorrow, wish me luck. God bless.

What is the plate called that’s covering the shifter cable by the transmission? Hit a big pothole and cracked it in pieces(car is lowered). Can’t find it anywhere online. Going to hit the local pick a part and get a used one. Going to use your video as my guide. Wish me luck lol

hello. where can i find such a cable? and how much does it cost?
@Demosworld2 жыл бұрын
So you can either look it up on ebay or another part website such as rockauto, parts geek, etc. Ne personally spending on the part and how crucial it is I will go through honda autoparts warehouse, but other than that advance may have them, or a junkyard for sure just look up a "Honda (whatever year crv you have) crv automatic shift selector cable" and the results should come up

@Demosworld3 жыл бұрын
You can adjust the cable to shift the trans, however if they routed it wrong or the cable got rusted and broke internally that would cause it too.

I can’t get out of park. I took everything apart besides the cable. I recovering from open heart surgery and in a stuck position. Ahhhhh
@Demosworld2 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late reply, but you should be able to shift it out of gear by either adjusting the tensioner on the cable, or shifting it from the transmission itself, the reason it's stuck though is most likely because you have the same situation as me where the jacket on the cable has split and the cable just pushes out of the split instead of applying force to the shift lever, it has snapped, or is bound up and needs adjustment, so either needs to be adjusted or replaced, hope this helps, and hope you recovered well 🤙🏻.

I had posted on previous question I think my car won’t shift out of park I took the plastic column off, all those pieces are moving in that area so where i believe it’s the shift linkage cable. And praying not the gears Inside the tranny however that’s a strong possibility. My Rhonda tashonda for her 21st birthday 🥲🥲😅

@@Demosworld the tight position is. The front end is up against the parking lot fence with curb
@Demosworld3 жыл бұрын
@stephie cee I gotcha well you can try 3 things the first one which is the safer way, there's a slot on top of the steering column made so you can insert a key when you do that it pushes down a white plastic tab that should allow you to shift it out of gear, the second way which I'm not 100% sure if it would work or not I'm just guessing based on how the cable operates, take off the cable cover on the trans and see if you can manually get the slide pin that moves when attached to the cable to move with like a screw driver or something that can fit in the hole the cable attaches to, it should move fairly easy, the third and last option if you have no others, is disconnect the rear drive shaft if you have a rt4wd if it fwd then don't worry about that, get the front wheels on some car dollies you can pick them up at harbor freight, from there as long as the rear wheels aren't locked up from sitting you should be able to push it back from the fence line to further investigate your issue. Hope any of these suggestions helped 🤙🏻
