This was the only video i found on the early 5.0. I followed the instructions to a T, ended up having a bigger leak than when i started. Took it to a shop and they said it would've been fine if i didn't use the silicon. Quote from the mechanics "you only use one" in regards to the paper filter and the silicone.

Preciate this a lot man you don’t know. Just finished the job about an hour ago and this video is the only instructions/reference I used! Super helpful. I need to invest in a cordless ratchet though because it took me about two hours to do this job. Way longer than it should’ve took me, ik lol

thank you. to be honest I dont remember the part numbers, but I do remember that I used the more expensive coolant hosing

Where you actually successful in this fix and didn't you have any leaks due to the shmuts you put on both sides and I was given a slight difference in the new houseing notice the ridge on your houseing mine is flash or flat no ridge on the new one am I up the creek with this one?

mine did the fix and had no issues after. if you arent having any leaks after install on yours you should be good to go

CAUTION : this guy didn't tell you something VERY important..DO NOT TIGHTEN DOWN THE BOLTS TO MUCH.ITS MADE OF CHEAP ALUMINUM AND IT WILL CRACK THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING.

Would you happen to know what the torque specs are for those 2 bolts holding the thermostat housing on? I have looked everywhere and can not find that information. Well, everywhere except where the correct answer is.

Good video. Next time. Drain the coolant by using the petcock at the bottom of the radiator. Nonetheless, good video.
