12 HOF playing in this game. That Devils roster was loaded with big names too
@dannythomas417 Жыл бұрын
Let's not forget Shanahan began his career as a Devil. He once played with the Marauder of Motor City, Claude Lemieux.
@scottdecker91158 ай бұрын
Indeed. Scott Stevens, Doug Gilmour, Scott Niedermayer, Dave Andreychuk, Martin Brodeur (who I actually got to meet by the way). That team WAS loaded and stacked with a bunch of great studs and Hall of Famers.

Doug Brown was the consumate role player. He'd sit out a few games, and seemed to always score when he was put back in. Had some big goals as a Wing.

Awood, as always, thank you so very much for these videos. They are keeping my spirits high during all this covid nonsense and are definitely a welcomed distraction. I get so excited when I see the new vid notification and have some hockey to look forward to watching. Keep up the great work, my dood- it's greatly appreciated.

Lidstrom finished 2nd in the Norris voting to Rob Blake even though he had far better defensive numbers and led all D-men in points. Could easily have 9 or 10 if the voters weren’t so weird in the late 90ds
@ericduncan79084 жыл бұрын
He was European and he finished his career with approximately half the head trauma Blake would(grit smh). These were legitimate factors with the voters during the 90s. Not sure when exactly it changed but I dont recall it being much of a factor at all a decade later when the Wings were back to play Crosby.
@timdecoursey2874 жыл бұрын
He was probably too European for the Norris back then.

I believe Detroit should have retired #14. Shanny spent about 10 great years, 3 Stanley Cups. Without him, i don't believe we win back to back cups.

Man i hated NJ. Brodeur was admittedly great but Ozzy plain hulked out at the end of this one. And dang, that 2nd Lidstrom goal was like a clinic from the moment he retrieved the puck. Great game thanks a million awood.

He wasnt known as a fighter and no he didnt fight all the tough guys. he cheap shot all the tough guys from behind while they werent looking and when he did fight he got the snot beat out of him just like in this fight with McCarty. He was known for throwing big hits and again most of them were super dirty. Hes more of a "pest" or "agitator" who also just happened to be huge
