Bought my brother’s 97 Accord SE for dirt cheap since he bought a new Civic and didn’t have the room for an extra car. The engine needed some TLC so bought a re-ring kit, suspension kit, and new tires. Surprisingly everything still works especially the moon roof...Drove it to Lake Havasu during the hot Arizona summer a 4 hour drive from my house and was so glad the AC was working and blowing cold air for this trip...I’ve been offer some $$$$ for her and not interested selling the old girl...

I figured I’ll buy a used engine w/warranty, struts, suspension kit, and down the road. Glad I’m able to perform the majority work myself and will save me lots of 💰 So cool you’re helping out your cousin, I would of helped my bro get the car running for him. He decided to buy a newer car with all the cool gadgets instead. Me, I love these 5th gen Accords and will bring her back to life.

You're doing crowd all over the world by taking him out of a Mustang. The Honda will outlast the Stang, the neighbors Stang and his barbers Stang. My wife drives a 96 Accord that won't die. Ive done the brakes a couple of times, the rad rusted out so I replaced that. The coil went so I replaced that and the alternator I replaced. Put a new windshield in it a month ago and I'm gonna paint it this winter or spring. Good cars and easy as hell to work on. Oh ya! I did the CV axles in it too. I've done more CV axles in the last year than I have in all the years before this one. Good video, Thanks.

My son has a 97 with 5spd manual. I re-booted the axles last weekend. They were still fine the bearings, after 240K miles. Mechanic wanted to "replace" axles with whatever he could get. NO WAY. I used Swepco 101 Moly #2 grease for CV joints & dedicated a grease gun to the Swepco grease.. And honda OEM boots, using FEBRYTOLD 12 Pcs CV Boot Clamps, or the Marine McMaster-Carr hose clamps.. Not getting rid of Honda OEM axles. Motor likes 10w-40 Valvoline Max Life in AZ, and Honda or Denso filters. We do our own oil changes. I added tiny bit .7 oz ZDDP+ for elevated zinc, to the oil. Maybe increased to 300ppm. When he got the car, was hard shifting the tranny sometimes. I completely trained the manual trans & put OEM Honda oil. It completely fixed the shifting. I was super pleasantly surprised.
