Jeep TJ's don't have drain holes in the frame, bad design, if you drill 4 - 1\2" holes where the lower control arm brackets are the water and dirt will drain out. The frame will rot from the inside and you won't know it til it is too late. Read up on it !

I just did the same thing to my TJ. One question, did you have any issues with the shifter hitting the inside of the tub? I'm having issues getting it to fully engage 1,3,5 gears. Great video by the way.
@ForceBuilt2 жыл бұрын
So, when they lift the body they extend the shifter. I could see where they added in a piece to make mine longer. I cut that piece out and welded the shifter back together. Now my shifter is factory length. I should have filmed that but forgot. Hope this helps!
@toddah252 жыл бұрын
@@ForceBuilt I took the shifter apart and found the extender. It was just bolted on there. Had to pull the entire shifter out to get it off.

Great video, I plan on following your exact steps. Any tips on how to remove the steering stem and other components involved

My steering hand a spacer under it. I just removed that spacer and bolted it back in place. The linkage for the transfer case also had an extender bracket that I removed and connected everything back to the original location. Hope this helps Connor!

what brand or where did you buy that kit from?

I removed the body lift and used the stock spacers that were used along with the 3 inch lift. Don't know what brand. Bought bolts at fastenal.

I am getting ready to tackle the same project... so far I see drop brackets on the transfer case and radiator... is there anything else I should look out for? Thanks for the input!
@ForceBuilt4 жыл бұрын
Look under the steering shaft under the hood. There should be a spacer under it holding it up higher where it is bolted down. That spacer needs to be removed when removing a body lift. Thanks
@ForceBuilt4 жыл бұрын
Also they probably lengthened the fuel fill hose from the fuel tank.
@cheyneturbyfill47274 жыл бұрын
Very helpful. I guess each manufacturer has their own approach... I was looking at rough countries 3” body lift install instructions to get an idea how to remove and they even require cutting the shift rod to add an extension.... I sure hope it’s not that involved. I just keep asking myself WHY WHY WHY?! Thanks again for the input, gives me hope

I was curious, I have electric fans and I didn’t notice any radiator relocation brackets. Would I have these since I have an electric fan and not the clutch fan?
@ForceBuilt3 жыл бұрын
Electric fans can use the radiator as it is. The fan shroud hits the machanical fan when rasing or lowering the body. With the machanical fan removed and an electric fan installed, body lifts won't cause a problem. Thanks
