Complete Removal of the factory bumper from a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport
Watch me fumble my way, step-by-step as I remove the factory front bumper from Jeep XJ. This should apply to any Cherokee made in 1997 through 2001. Aside from how the end caps are removed, much of this also applies to earlier XJs.
Stay tuned! In future videos I'll be tidying up and relocating what's left, installing the JCR tie-in kit, and then using my worst fabrication skills to create a new bumper.

Yep your right, pull the plastic back and hit them with a long extension with a wobble and ittl come right off. 99 xj just pulled it today for a winch bumper install.

I'm sorry, I don't speak spanish, but if you're asking about that black ball, that is a vacuum canister which helps provide vacuum for accessories, etc while the engine is off. Thinking about taking these off to spray paint them cause theyre really faded. Is there a feasible way to get them back on after removal?

+Zeke Zacierka yep. They'll go back together fairly easily. It all bolts together.

spacerag hey, just came back to this video cause im finally getting around to painting them tomorrow. Just noticed you had a rancho steering stabilizer. How does that perform?

I've been happy with it. Seems like it has held up better than OEM stabilizers have. I talk about it a little in my video about the ZJ tie rod upgrade.

Fyi you can remove the whole bumper in one piece by removing 6 bracket bolts after disconnecting all electrical connectors and the vac line on the passenger side.

There are still two bolts connnecting the plastic caps to the fenders on each side. These are obscured by the rubber wheel wells. The bumper wont come off in one piece without taking those out first. With the pre-97s i think you might be correct though.

What is the blue 110v plug hanging down? I probably should know the answer - but I am at a loss. Anyone have a good guess?

Optional electric drive. Kinda sucks cuz you need a really long cord to get anywhere.

Haha! If you haven't figured it out yet, it's for my block heater. In super cold places we plug in our cars to keep the coolant warmer so they will start easier (or at all).
