First of all, what we're NOT going to do is skip over the FACT that this man is even able to do this at 97. He's of sound mind, still moves better than some that are 30-50 years younger than him, & appeared to be living independently. That's a goal in & of itself. Respect.
@Sabbathissaturday5 жыл бұрын
ThatLadyDray - my 92 year old grandmother lives on her own. I have her groceries and food from restaurants delivered to her and she has a housekeeper come every other Saturday to clean for her, but she lives absolutely independently. I live 10 hours away from her and every other person in our family that lives in the same town (some a few blocks from her) don’t call or check on her. Sadly. I’m glad this man is able to interact with people and still feel useful. It’s important at their age. ❤️
@benjamindorough61294 жыл бұрын
Err, he does not move better than a 47 year old. Unless you're referring to a 47 year old disabled alcoholic or something. Maybe someone 10-20 years younger is a bit more reasonable.
@JENDALL7144 жыл бұрын
By law he doesn't get a break because he only works 4 hours. If he worked more than 4 hours, he would have to by law take a break, or the company could get fined by the Department of Labor. It varies from State to State. I once worked for a company who got fined for not having Employees take their breaks. We all got a few extra hundred dollars on our checks because Department of Labor calculated how much they owed every employee for missing breaks. I have no idea how they calculated it, but I didn't care, I got some extra money out of it!

And he has a million active hobbies. and he Travels and lectures. He has perfect eyesight and is steady as a rock and knows his stuff. He has out lived most of his patients. He says "You retire, you die." There has got to be something to that. He tries to convince everyone, keep working. Pretty amazing

@@VentureHolly I disagree I think our generation is very selfish and self centered and not very nice if I am being completely honest. We think we are too superior to put in a hard days work simply for the pleasure of working for something, it is a good feeling if you have accomplished something, rather than only concentrating on nihilism and self satisfaction, the truth is that cats and dogs in America eat better than most of worlds humanity which is sick. We have become a consumer led society buying things we don't need. We support people into power who commit terrible atrocities in our names and apathy, misinformation and a push via big tech to become a totalitarian society is probably the biggest issue facing our generation ( millenials ) thankfully the generation coming after ours has more sense and has seen the vapidness of millenials and our obsession with self and pleasure and mass consumerism. I have faith that future generations will heed the warning and vote accordingly, 1984 was a warning after all not an instruction manual.

my grandpa was always in perfect health and never seemed old until he retired. he died within just 5 or 6 years and only in his 70's he was always a very hard working man. I am much like him, I think I will probably continue to work in some form until I die. I do not see that as a sad thing. I think Idle hands lead to idle brains and declining health. You have to keep doing things and the easiest way to keep busy is to have some kind of job or daily occupation, whether it makes you money or not does not even matter. use it or lose it.
