Daveman, seems when i put a good lift pump and a spin on fuel filter assy. on my 2000 model i put the banjo bolt with port on the banjo fitting at the vp44 so i could still read pressure.

Thanks for the advise Dave, Im getting close to pulling the trigger on a new VP44 cuz my trucks been throwing the P0216 code for 10 years but never failed. I know pushing my luck but runs perfect and has never let me down at 225k miles. I've lived with the occasional dead pedal for years, gotten used to it. Just changed the APPS sensor cuz it threw code saying the original is going bad. $200....$1500 for a thoroughbred pump kit is gonna kill my wallet?? But that's the price we pay for a workhorse I reckon. s

Thanks for the video..yea I have a 2000, 3500.laramie manual trans..i just got a southbend clutch from thurabread diesel..i just changed out all my filters and thank GOD mine had a new vp 44 put on about 12 to 1500 miles ago..i've kept mine stock all but cold air and straight exhaust..its got 154k..it pulls my toys just fine..lol.

MOST importantly ---> Add a fuel pressure guage inside the cab! There would be ZERO(ok, maybe a few) VP44 failures if Dodge would have included a fuel pressure guage or low pressure warning light.

Is any remanufacturing shop in the US for this pumps? I really think is crazy to pay 1,200 dlls for a rebuild pump. Specially when in must cases the issue is the module the seats on top of it.
