Technically, they are singing it on behalf of a grown man. So, there should be no shame in liking this song. I find it odd and sad how there seems to be some form of embarrassment within the male community when it comes to listening to pop music, but in other genres that also involve romantic songs like R&B, rock and even hip-hop, guys have no problems sharing their love for those genres/songs.

Shit even the hardcore tough-guy rappers like DMX make music that is emotionally charged, that’s what makes it so intense. It’s raw anger, sadness, darkness, and grit shot out of a cannon. Ain’t nothing wrong with vibing to upbeat music like this. Everyone’s got different ways of expressing emotions, as long as they’re harmless or productive and not destructive, it’s all good.
