Dave didn't talk about the seeds needing cold stratification. I am so confused about this because when I researched starting snaps by seed, so many different sources say they need cold stratification. My seed packet from Botanical Interests says to freeze the seeds for 48 hours. Lisa, do you cold stratification your snapdragon seeds?

Great, great information!! 👍 Question though... what if there is not a group number on the seed packet?? I have black prince and tall deluxe- neither have numbers on them - I looked them up and have only found "A1, A3" for black prince (can't find anything on tall deluxe) -- is this the same thing??

I think keeping at 34 degrees, keeping stems straight in bucket, keeping bees out of blooms, keeping chemicals in its water, keeping up with which kind blooms when, is enough for me to not deal with them……Darn!

I've just listened to this podcast 3 times while cleaning out my flower beds for the fall and have decided that snapdragons are one of the 3 flowers that I'm going to specialize in along with celosia and sweet peas as well as getting ready to put in an established area of curly willow. Thanks so much for all you information. I had fabulous results growing snaps and celosia this year with my first trial year. Thanks again for all the information and great seeds. 👍 ❤️🌿

I am going to throw a wrench in here. lol I am in Eastern Canada and I had rockets (the actual plant) grow back the following year on the west side of my house. I was shocked!

I wish there was a hobbiest/home gardener version of instruct. I fear the book won't tell me when to put my seedlings out in my z5b. All I ever hear about is the South.

It depends on the frost dates in your growing zone.

I planted group 2 in spring. They were good in late spring and came back growing tall again in the fall. They just sat there all summer. They did have seed pods on them later though which I guess is not good. My season ends in Sept so I can't plant the ,fours

In Europe, it’s hard to find the varieties you grow and very often there is no mention of the group (for Monarch or Labella). This year I started finding Mme Butterfly and a few colours of Potomac that I loved so much when I grew them a few years ago, when it was still possible to buy seeds in the UK 😞 but I am still a bit confused : can I saw these group 3-4 snaps in the fall as they are not meant to bloom early in the season ? What would be the point of doing so ? Thanks in advance for your help !

No recipe for holding solution, we use this holding solution Ive linked below. The problem with homemade cut flower conditioning products is they aren't stable andd typically don't last but a few hours. thegardenersworkshop.com/product/cut-flower-holding-solution-t-bags/
