Hey, thanks for watching! This DIY set up was built out of left over parts, watch our version 2.0 where we get some actual piping and make it legit! kzbin.info/www/bejne/nGeQe5yCn8h1nc0

My 02 986 De snorkeled Straight pipes cat back Nice sounds when pedal is depressed- pretty quiet at idle even with the Straight pipes

They are such good sounding cars. Is yours the 2.7?
@jeffjeff4477 Жыл бұрын
@@TenzaMotorsports Yes 2.7 Resonator removed and capped on intake as well. Stock air filter Not too droney Still considering a Circuit Weeks exhaust, but they do seem fairly loud, which isn't always ba bad thing. Alpine stereo with Alpine pwrd sub fills the spot when cruising, but when driving through the gears(tiptronic) stereo is turned off, sound is sweet!! Thanks for the reply!! Merry Christmas!!!

Does the BMW have magnets for body panels as it seems to have attracted lots of metal onto it

Not sure what you’re referring to.
@a647384 ай бұрын
@@TenzaMotorsports I guess he is referring to that BMW`s keep gaining weight... (but the real weight gainer is Mercedes with their SL models that is 2 seater with 1,8 or 2 ton weight).

Great video. I made my own cold air intake on my channel for porsche.

If you take your car for a power wash… isn’t the filter gonna suck a ton of water?
@TenzaMotorsports Жыл бұрын
No power washing. Hand wash only. We hand wash all our cars, even the daily drivers.

Just a heads-up, the M96 engines aren't worth modifying. None of them respond to mods well. I've researched them pretty extensively and even own a 3.6L 996.2 911. I would love to get more power out of it. Other than a proper rebuild with an increase in displacement since the clynder walls have to be replaced anyway, you're just wasting time and lots of money. I wish this wasnt the case, but it's reality. Some have actually lost power with aftermarket upgrsdes.

Yes, that’s why the most we will do before anything major, like rebuild and turbo, is some intake parts, maintenance, exhaust. Small stuff. The weight reduction and suspension will be the most effective thing we are doing short term. Long term we will try boost and maybe swap to another engine. We aren’t looking for anything crazy. If we could get 350-400wheel, that would great. Should be doable around 10 psi. I guess if it blows up it’ll be good content!
@andydhillon1977 Жыл бұрын
@TenzaMotorsports Being completely objective, you'll likely waste time and money putting a turbo on these engines. The M96 is a poorly designed engine. There are several reasons for that, but that's the reality. Too many things can fail at any moment. Then there's 'bore scoring' that's killing these engines. Unless you have the block resleeved, the engine is a ticking time bomb. Give it a try for content. I'll predict the number of people who actually watch the content will be low. I own several cars. Hondas, Nissans, BMWs, and Porsches. The Porsche guys are my least liked group of "enthusiasts". Very narrow-minded people, that's why I think you won't get many views. Just my suggestion. I'll watch the content.

Mmm so the only way to get some gain is turbo... (That is also why I think of buying the 2 liter turbo, easy to tune and use extremely little fuel).
@jasonburns161 Жыл бұрын
Same sound before and after. Just louder??
@TenzaMotorsports Жыл бұрын
Yes! Changes the sound a little. But mostly makes it louder. Much more aggressive in person. Hard to get it on the mic with wind noise and whatnot
@ebeing2955 Жыл бұрын
bad idea to have it in the side vent, you might suck up some cigerette butts and create a fire hazard, seen it happen.
@TenzaMotorsports11 ай бұрын
The oem intake was in the side. And picking up cigarettes butts off the road isn’t really concern. Many cars have aftermarket intakes, fire hazards with cigarette butts isn’t an issue.

I don't understand why people go to all that trouble for essentially, no improvement. You have conveniently placed your aftermarket filter in the, wait for it, cold air intake. Porsche engineers have been fiddling about with improvements for 75 years. If it was that easy to find more neddies, they would have already done it. There are dozens of videos on this platform messing about with the air intake but I'm yet to see one with a before and after dyno test. Stop ruining your beautiful car! If you want performance upgrades, go see a Porsche specialist.

I think it's a great Idea, I bet a .3 gain in the quarter mile. It can be reversed easily. The sound is worth the modification alone. Nice work getting the filter outside the engine bay.
