So this is the mneumonica stack, made by juan tamariz, which is literally a random order that magicians just memorize to have a universal stack that they all know. This specific trick was made by dani daortiz, and is sold by him. It's called Or Not, as I'm sure you could've guessed by the patter. Basically, if you know the stack, and have the spectator only cut or move cards from the top to the bottom or vice versa, the order is only shifted. So after placing the 3 cards in the middle, all you need to do is see the bottom card, and you know which are in the middle. Also, I'd love free deck of cards, because you can't ever have enough of them.

Explanation: I believe it’s he’s memorized the entire deck with order from position 1-52. He’s done tricks before where he’s flipped through the deck and knows exactly which card is where. He probably uses some sort of memory technique, maybe a rhyme or some sort of association the card has with its position. When the spectator is given the deck they are not shuffling, only cutting the deck... even when they “place” any number of cards on top/bottom they are still performing a very small cut. Once the deck is “shuffled” the spectator can choose to place three cards, from top or bottom. Jojo needs to know this info. He does not know what cards are going into the deck though. This is the main thing. When the deck is handed back to him, he flips the deck to reveal the bottom card. This bottom card (the key card, which Jojo speaks about later in the video xD maybe a cheeky hint) is the only other information he needs to know. Once he knows the key card he can work out the position of any and every card that comes before and after it. When the cards go in the box he has to think about the order and how many cards were taken from the top or bottom. He may have rehearsed this specific outcome to make it easier and to save time but he would be able to perform it this way every time without counting the spectators moves or touching the deck apart from setting it in the order prior to the trick. Very impressive memory and calculations. Still don’t understand? If a sequence of cards (bottom to top) is 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 You cut the sequence in half so it now reads: 4,5,6,7,8,9,1,2,3 You remove the 4 from the bottom, and the 3 and 2 from the top and place it in the middle somewhere... The sequence is now 5,6,7,4,3,2,8,9,1 You now see the bottom card, the 5. You know the that the card before the 5 on the bottom was taken, the 4. And you know two cards from the top were taken. Now because the deck was only cut you know the sequence continues on the top of the deck and so you know that the two cards before 4 are 3 and 2. Jojos sequence is more complex and well done for memorizing it. Great trick! Even better prep! *edit for spelling

For the first trick I used to do a similar trick. What I did was memorize the order the cards were in the deck. I didn't shuffle the deck. Then when I saw the card on the bottom of the deck I'd know which cards were on the top of the deck. Since I never touched the deck it was amazing to people. You do more steps, but I'd you might do it in a similar way. Its really impressive if you do track all the little card reversals. I minimize the number of times they cut the deck to make it easier on myself.

Okay, here I go. Ik I’m 8 months late. You have the 3 cards preset in the top and bottom. When you bring them cards to the top/bottom you can keep them in their spot depending on how you place the cards back. You then do half a false flip that would result in after two flips the deck being exactly the same with all 3 cards in the top and bottom. You can then have them and put them away. You already know what they are as you saw the deck earlier so you can just repeat them. This is over simplified and it is a guess after watching it once. I have a knack at guessing tricks but this was difficult

Explanation: Jojo, even though you say it can be done in person, the card trick you did was not. You must of set the deck, and chose the outcome (When you took cards from the top and bottom, cut the deck, and also chose the amount of cards you took) . At the end, when you put the face up cards in the middle, with the Mathematics done, you correctly memorized the faced up cards. And, you saw the 4 of clubs when you flipped the deck. The deck is in a pre-arranged sequence (no shuffling beforehand) and the method of card placement is as simple as any cut. As long as you know how many cards are put on the top or bottom you can figure out the new sequence based on the bottom card (which you see until the last part). When you ask the spectator to place either the top or bottom card face-up in the deck, you know that it's top or bottom beforehand and know which cards they are without having to see them. Still an impressive trick considering you have to memorize a 52-card sequence. With that memorization you know where every card is placed as long as you know at least one card in the sequence and use that as a reference for where the sequence begins and ends! Great job!!! Always enjoy your videos whether I know how the tricks are done or not. It still takes a lot of patience, practice, hand coordination and memorization for the advanced prestidigitation you perform! Rick Jay would be proud!

I believe you are using the famous mnemonic trick with your own twist which I find very cool. A bit of context with the mnemonic trick you can locate any card in the deck by using simple math and you have to know the bottom card ,spectator is only allowed to cut the cards NOT suffle them and Jojo is telling his Spectator to take cards from bottom to top or the other way(it's the same as cutting the deck but it gives the spectator the idea that it's pretty random)and it really doesn't matter how much cards are getting moved you're not ruining the order you're just using the same order starting with another card from the bottom(this whole part was actually like doing nothing it's just to confuse and give the illusion it's mixed well)how he locates the 3 cards was easy he just had to know the bottom card and then he preformed the mnemonic Trick and that's actually it Nicely done Jojo! P.S:For the non-magicians memorizing a whole deck is almost impossible to keep up with but memorizing a simple math equation and knowing one card is enough to make you memorize the deck the only bad thing is they can't shuffle the deck

But I'm going to tell you anyways😂 So basically re watching the trick over and over made me realize that the whole "top or bottom" With the cards are false, and that it was done to kinda mess with the person your doing the trick to and make them confused, how you done it, I probably could find out but I'm watching this really late at night as I'm from Ireland and time works differently. After watching it I paused for a second and realised that some of the cards shown by you from start, to finish, ended up in the same order it started with, just like the last card landing on the 9 of diamonds, upon further inspection I realise that now, your actually only.. wowzers so here is me explanation for last trick the last trick I think I got it. After all that shuffling.. I put it at .25 speed and replayed it. The chosen card never left the top of the deck! so you know that it is at the top of the deck. While splitting the single deck into many different piles through spinning it in your fingers (dont ask), you kept track of which pile had the chosen card and slipped it into one of your hands while we were focused on the movement of the cards. you then took the deck out of view (suspicious) and began to tap it and do something with it out of the camera's (and viewer's) sight. You then placed it on the deck and nothing happened afterwards. I think I got that trick please tell me if I did :)

I figured I out. You did what the woman from Yu-Gi-Oh did and marked each card with a different scent. You then memorized these scents and used them to discern the different cards. During the trick, you made the trick look more complex than it actually is.

On the back of the cards, there are objects in each corner, they don’t give you a number but for example a symbol for the ‘king’ card might be a flower with one of the petals over lapping another petal! You might have memorised what each card symbols is! Idk if I was right but I tried :”)

First you memorize the deck and you didn’t shuffle them. Taking cards from the bottom and putting them on the top and vice versa is simply cutting the deck. Cutting the deck over and over won’t change the order of the cards so you still know the order of you know where one card is. You looked at the 4 of clubs at 4:12 and knew what cards were close to it. cards were because you memorized the cards. You hear them say top or bottom and know which cards are chosen and put upside down. Also when you spread the cards before and after the trick the cards are in the same order. 9 diamond, A hearts, 6 clubs. The cards were in the same order. Booooooom

I think that you remembered the arrangement of the deck? Why? Because you haven't mixed it. Before the video, yes, but not while. And you did a video once where you've cut the cards and still knew the correct order. You did the same here. You always said the exact number and where the cut is made because you have always seen the last card. Cutting only "switches" the arrangement of the 2 halfs of the deck but not of all cards. A crazy good and difficult memory trick, amazing!

amd actually picking an amount of cards from top or bottom is the same as a cut. so you new arrange the order of the deck in your head and know which cards are on top and bottom at the end. if am correct, really impressing, great talent!

Basically the deck has a certain graphic on it where if you look closely you can see paterns of the suite and or card. So he memorized each one, and when "you" pull the card, he just has to see the back to know what it is.
