99 Ford Ranger 3.0 vacuum lines for Hvac system only runs on defrost FIX

Thanks for the guide dude just went out to my 99 3.0 ranger and found a black hose near the white that had broke, put on a new adapter and plugged it back in and it's working again

I bought a 98 ranger with a bad engine late last year. I finally got it running about a month ago and this is something I've dealt with from the very beginning. I put everything back the way I found it which evidently was wrong. I connected the red vacuum hose to the grey one just like you showed in the video. Fixed the issue immediately. Thank you for posting this. Now I have to figure out where the other vacuum lines are supposed to go

I messed around with it some more. I got the vacuum reservoir hooked back up. All vents work and I can switch between heat and air. I haven't figured out how to hook up the heater control valve though. The previous owner did a swap to remove the pulse vacuum system for the 4 wheel drive so no matter what it won't be "stock" I just wish i could see what it looked like from the factory. I may need to come up with my own solution to connect the supply side of the reservoir to the heater control valve. Interestingly the coolant lines are plugged off where they go from the heater hoses to the intake manifold. After doing some reading it seems like this is a known bypass if there's a coolant leak at the intake. Unfortunate if that's the case, it gets pretty cold where I live. Throttle body icing is a real concern. Not sure if I want to spend the time and money on new heater hoses just to chase down a leak. I'll figure it out. For now I'll work on other stuff that needs to get done. Thanks again for the video

Red to black vacuum. Grey to pressure switch on hose the other connects under the windshield washer fluid tank to another line. Grey and black run into cab under blower motor connecting to 2 vacuum lines in dash if those are not connected your truck won't run

Your video helped me realize that my car electrician is an idiot. My car is a 2008 Daewoo Nubira and the AC redirection button uses vacuum to redirect air. The idiot was checking my AC and tried to change air direction while the car was off, so naturally the air recirculation ↩️ button didn't work along with the redirection dial. He closed the fresh air vent shut permanently using a screw so the air in the cabin always recirculate 🤦‍♂️ Sometimes KZbin suggestions is a savior. I'll remove this screw tonight. Thanks.
