This comparison comes down to who got to be the first attacker. If Titans were the first ones to attack you would have the opposite result.

Titans will never be the first attacker because Black Dragons are much, much faster.

Dragon has speed 11, titan has speed 7 so Dragon will always attack first.

Black Dragons have 15 speed, Titans has 11. However, Red Dragons have 11 speed while Giants have 7.

It's possible. The hero with Titans would need the following: Cape of Velocity,Necklace of Swiftness,Ring of the Wayfarer x2 and the opposing hero cannot have any of those items. This will give Titans 16 speed which means they gain initiative as Black Dragons normally have 15 speed.

I would bet the opposite. One titan does 50×0.975×1.5=73.125 One black dragon does 45×1.05×1.5=70.875. And they have the same health.

well guys. there is a spell called force field. so in normal battle black dragons would not stand a chance. especially if second spell is antimagic

well guys. there is an artifact called black orb and a spell called forgetfulness and a spell called chain lighting and a spell called implosion and a spell called lightning bolt and a spell called magic arrow and a spell called ice bolt and a spell called berserk and a spell called blind and a spell called Armageddon and a spell called meteor shower and a spell call firewall and a spell called curse and a spell called weakness and a spell called sorrow and a spell called misfortune and an option called wait and a black dragon's speed is fking faster so they are always going to start the turn and if antimagic titanus titanu will have to waste a cast for antimagic and the black dragons will still win.

With magic, the Dungeon player just implodes the Titan and moves the dragon in their face, whatever buff they cast can be undone, or you hit them with more implosion... not that this scenario happens allot in a real game.

And Remove Obstacle will remove Force Field and the Black Dragons will start the turn ALWAYS so the Titans will not have a chance to force field.

Тута где-то в английских комментариях: если Титаны на снежной территории + шмотки на ускорение, и достаточно будет 15 очков скорости, если атакующий, тогда - да, первый ход за ними... Но нужно проверять. Пысы: во вступительном ролике Героев 3 черный Дракон падает/атакует с полёта Титана и валит его на землю, поливая огнём))

Titans are simply the better unit in HOMM3. Its just a fact. A shooter, that deals damage without getting damaged themself can maipulate a battle outcome in so much more ways than a straight melee fighter can.

Wrong. Immunity to implosion and the ability to hit two units at once with dragon breath is a big deal both mid and late game.

@@strucka Your dragon needs to get into melee range regardless, while you can cheese the AI way better with a ranged unit. It doesent matter if dragon can hit two units at once, it still can take damage and die. A titan sits pretty behind a wall of level 1 units and smiles.

@@SaithMasu12 I respect your point, but that is a very niche example. Titans are super tough to get/afford. Most competitive pvp scenarios end before you can afford titans (the building itself is crazy pricey). In longer scenarios (huge maps or larger), your army will be made up of only strong/fast units anyway. Again, I'm not shitting on Titans, but in my experience they just aren't as universally useful as Dragons. Frankly, only the Phoenix and Archangel are better in my opinion.

@@strucka Well yeah. Phoenix are better because it grants you first strike and archangles are the best units in the game due to their ability, stats and cost/effectivness. Anyhow i think it comes down to personal preference and i like a ranged unit more.
