99p Lebara UK SIM-Only Plan - WORTH IT? (Review)

Has anyone based in the UK used Lebara? What has your experience been like?

I use a Lebara SIM as a second SIM in a Samsung S23. It's my business mobile number, means I don't have to give customers my personal EE number. I've just done an Ookla Speedtest and got 66.6Mbps download speed and 3.54 Mbps upload. I rarely use data on this SIM - unless I can't get a signal with EE. It's handy. Switching to EE my download speed was 113Mbps and upload was 2.31Mbps. I pay £5 a month for my Lebara SIM and I think it's great value. The only issue I have is sending long SMS messages. Not an issue on EE but I keep being told service not activated despite all settings being correct. I put a Lebara SIM in two old phones to give to my kids.

I've been using Lebara for 6 months now, super cheap but the signal isn't the best. I've also heard that there had been some sim swap fraud so be careful with Lebara.

I've changed to Lebara from Vodafone and get much better signal

I use Tesco, not the cheapest but no problems with signal strength and no roaming charges abroad.

Fair enough. I’m considering iD mobile next, but if I’m not happy with that, I’ll give Tesco mobile a go

I joined Lebara to find out that I am restricted to whom I can call, surly this is censorship? Eg I need to get a Pac code has my ex contract lapsed and now I discover that I cannot call them as they are a rival company! So upshot I’m stuck! Any suggestions for a solution would be appreciated?

Had trouble getting the Lebara SIM to acknowledge my existing phone number even though Lebara sent a text to say that my PAC had been in-ported. Same issues with connectivity as SaranByte (I'm in Cumbria, England). Don't know whether I'll stick with Lebara - I'll give it a fair trial.

Switched to Lebara from EE 2 weeks ago. Had similar hiccups with porting in my old number, but for me it took 4 days to resolve because of weekend. I find I get weaker reception than with EE, but if I’m mostly at home with Wi-Fi then it doesn’t make a huge difference practically

Fair enough. I did end up switching to Smarty and it's been much better reception wise for me, so I think I might stick with them.
