@@jakeradcliff7691yep 9r mas more then just 50cc more doesn’t it? Doesn’t it have a didn’t lighter clutch or something. Although it’s questionable durability. Few other things I can’t remember
@RegularSledding4 күн бұрын
That 858 will still be a slow to rev dog compared to any Polaris 2 stroke. It’s just how it is, didn’t make any of the moving mass any lighter
@Ride4life3113 күн бұрын
Bro….you are comparing a 858 cc to a 899cc! There is a big difference….not to mention the light weight crank in the 9R! You need to compare the 858 to a 850! Of course it’s not going to compare to a 9R! So retarded that society is trying to put the 858 in the 900 class 🤪

Somthing like a 20hp gain with ibex 858 tune. Would have to be a must for me lot of power being left on the table.
@jacobboswell93254 күн бұрын
Yup, 20hp gain in the midrange and it wakes the sled up a bunch. If you don't want to void the warranty there should be an ECU tune coming from cat soon.

Would love to see a comparison of the 858 vs you're n/a 850, seems like a more fair playing ground also cuz i have an 850 rmk and im looking at buying an 858 from my local dealer

It’s coming! We’ll be doing a “head to head” with my 850 very soon
@bertrenolds5Күн бұрын
don't buy a first year, you will regret it. Plus 2024 850 khaos is like 11,500 right now with warranty from a dealer. If you are gonna pay for a 858 just get a 9r

Has Ben done clutching for the Gen5 TurboR? I’d be curious to see a comparison on the Freeride that’s in the video.
@Bryce_Cardinal3 күн бұрын
Dustin will be doing an SRP clutch kit in his freeride so we’ll be sure to get some content on it!
@SheldonTre4 күн бұрын
What kind of RPM where you pulling on both sleds with the clutching? Did you check to see if the clutches were fulling shifted out now?
@Bryce_Cardinal3 күн бұрын
Cat is consistently around ~8200rpm and the 9R is ~8400. Polaris just typically runs higher rpm than the other manufacturers. The cat was hitting great rpm, it just doesn’t generate max rpm as quick as the 9R
@SheldonTre2 күн бұрын
@@Bryce_Cardinal Thats good, I run my 9R around the same RPM range. Factory clutching on the 9R's was a complete disappointment from Polaris. Anyone that is still running on factory clutching is missing out on so much. I do my own set ups and its a whole new sled. Good video. Cheers.

Bro @11:05 you were on the complete wrong side of the sled. We all understand counter steer but you were trying to to go left around the twig while standing on the right side. You’ve still got a lot to learn about backcountry snowmobiling. I give you an A+ for effort and taking the time to do everything that’s involved with trying to be KZbinr! Cheers 🍻 mate!

I would be super happy if you would consider to record in 4k with a go pro instead of the insta 360 camera. The quality on the insta 360 is horrible.

skidoo 850 takes both out 4 out of times
@curtisbull15833 күн бұрын
That's the issue with the cat, always wanting to go and lean where you dont want. It's just not a predictable sled. These new ones, while probably improved, are still going to have some of the same characteristics as the older alphas. And I believe that is all due to the monorail system. Which I believe is a downfall of the sled. In my opinion Arctic Cat is never going to produce a sled that a lot of people want, such as a Polaris or skidoo, as long as they continue to build off of that stupid monorail system.
@bertrenolds5Күн бұрын
monorail sucks, I still own twin rail cats but will never buy into the stupid mono rail bs. If cat was smart they would start offering the 858 in a mtn twin rail setup. They wont though because textron sucks. I am done supporting cat, I am moving to polaris. I want a 850 khaos or 9R with a 3.25.

@bertrenolds5 I've ridden a couple 9rs, great machines, at least when their working and not in the shop. Love they way they handle. Got to ride a couple scooters as well one being a turbo machine. I like them a lot too. If I could have rode all three before my purchase, I never would have gotten the Arctic Cat.
