Great to see a car used for it purpose 100.000 miles. Glad people driving their car instead of having it a museum piece in their garage.

Thinking laser for dryer/rusty areas and dry ice for oily residue? Awesome end result.
@IAMDetailing20 күн бұрын
Essentially, somewhat! We dry ice the areas first and then finish metal pieces with laser typically. Dry ice wont touch rust

So what’s the criteria for dry ice vs. laser? Seemed like you used to only use laser for exhaust and rusty brake calipers, now much more broadly including coated surfaces. Assume anything rubber and electrics are dry ice. Sort of lost track when you switched to dry ice for the transmission of diff, or whatever that first ice shot was.
@IAMDetailing20 күн бұрын
First, we always use dryice for anything and everything, then to achieve better result on aluminum/metal parts, we will use the laser. For catching more attention and views, we switched the order in the video this week

Amazing job on this car. Unfortunately in one camera angle I saw the notorious BMW Orange peel paint job. Not sure how much they can get rid fo that with compounding as I only saw the orange peel in one quick shot. BMW was notorious for this back in the day when this M3 was built.
@joevanseeters287320 күн бұрын
Is that LASER type of cleaning something new? I've never seen that one before. Is is incorporated into the dry ice blasting machine or is that a separate device? It looked like it did a nice job getting rid of the baked on dirt and grime on the undercarriage area. Looks like the owner(s) enjoyed the M3 the way it was designed to be used! Really nice transformation as always. The I AM Detailing team is one of the best professional detailing operations in the world.

Even after 17 years the E92 still continues to impress me for me it's better to drive an E92 because nowaday's especially more recent BMW'S like M5 F80, M4 G82 etc... you have a lot of assist for examples when you driving over the speed limit the car start and continues bipping until you slow down which is annoying to be honest if you have a E92 don't sell it to buy a M5 F80 or M4 G82 for example that's all my advice for purists which loving feelings 😅

I got one from 2009. Bought it 2 years ago and restored it to the best of my budget and abilities. It's only a 320i because the tax for 3L+ engines is crazy, but I love it and hope to never have to sell it. I love driving it, I love working on it, and the design is pure art. I had an E90 LCI for 8 years before this one and aside from the fact that it wasn't an E92, it was perfect. I looked for a particular 2009 because it's pre-LCI but has the CIC nav from factory. Best of both generations. Next spring I might also have the exterior detailed. The interior I've restored to near mint condition. E92 forever!

Why laser? Wouldn't the dry ice work?
@IAMDetailing20 күн бұрын
The laser will clean metal to a deeper level than dry ice will, and laser can handle rust and corrosion, which dry ice wont even touch

Leaving the calipers on for paint is an amateur move. They need to be removed, taken apart, sandblasted, painted, and then reinstalled. Also the yellow is a bit tacky, black with no logo would’ve been miles better.
@CyberdyneSystemsModel10119 күн бұрын
For what reason? As you can see they reached every area. Black on a dark car wouldnt even be recognizable. Big brake calipers are also there for “Look“ reasons.
