@@galacticpookachus6780 As much as I hate to say it, that's just bad boss design. All her moves are crap and easily dodged, but this attack is hard to dodge and when it hits, it kills. Should've balanced all her moves. She literally has a move that shouts "I'm open, come hit me." It's the upward-downward slash with a huge charge time and backswing. I'm trying to dps race her with OLEG the Banished Knight. It works 25% of the times. Been at her for 18 hours. I might give up and summon someone being able to just kill it while I dodge.

A lot of enemies in a lot of the games are designed to attack the second you drink healing potion. Souls games have always been the same, the more you back up in a straight line, panic and chug, the more the game punishes you for it and it seems impossible. The more you dodge, don't try to trade, and punish the boss at the right times... the more you become the boss. It's just easier said than done! 😄

@@Sam-yr8ls Eh difference is in all other games bosses are either purely react roll able like in bloodborne/ react parryable or dodgeable in sekiro OR about learning boss movesets/combos. In Elden Ring, bosses can use combo extensions based on your inputs like a sekiro boss which is not how the other games where. I had a really tough time with Elden Ring trying to abuse the input read system to get favorable responses from bosses. Even then though sometimes Malenia for example will just dash away, avoiding recovery frames after I attempt to punish a normally punish able move.

Well, the animation for Scarlet Aeonia takes hours to complete. Creates a huge Scarlet Rot area, so anyone who tried to take advantage of that to deal damage gets punished (or is she immune to damage while locked into the animation, like our critical strike animation?), but you can easily take advantage of it to heal, reapply buffs, or in this guy's case, destroy her throne, without fear of retaliation.

Main trick with second phase is that any attack involving the Rot except Waterfowl (cause that already does) leaves her wide open if you don't get hit.

The problem is that after the last patch she could do that with absolutely no cooldown. She is literal computer code that works exactly as intended, and if you actually take the time to learn how to play the game, you can overcome this challenge quite easily. Incredible fun display of mastery! Wonderful execution of not getting hit by her flurry. I like hitting her with fully charged attacks, using waterfowl looks kinda similar and fun. Malenia is such an amazing fight, I hope fromsoftware devs are pleased with their work. At 2:00, did you cancel her grab by hitting her and then she immediately went into a kick? Haven’t seen that before. Also at 2:08, I saw you dodge rolled to avoid her grab. Maybe phase 2 is different, but in phase 1 you can avoid it at that range by side stepping to your right/her left, it’s pretty fun to execute, try it out sometime! Might even be a big enough opening to get in a waterfowl dance of your own, I’m not familiar with its timings though. Learned a lot about this fight by watching you!

Killing her on ng+1 with no summon or bleed made me feel amazing. Then I see this on ng+7, your damage is super low, all about the skill of not being hit. You make it look easy. Very nice!.
