Her dad may have approached it the wrong way (interrupting) but he’s right - and they’re going to have to make that mistake on their own. One week is easy, but things do happen like your car packing up, and then that’s half your rent down the drain. We always wish we’d saved more in our 20s because we’re paying for it in our 30s

You don’t need a marriage certificate to call your partners parents in laws. I called my husbands parents in laws for the 2 years we lived together before we got married. In some ways I wish we hadn’t got married….just stayed together and put the $15K towards our mortgage.

They’re not delusional. They’re both working. She simply has a family that really wants to support her dream of being a home owner which is lovely. I also can appreciate that they want to support their daughter to the point that they trust her judgement in a future partner. I think they’re a lovely couple who have a bright future. They know how to budget and stick to it clearly. They both do the cleaning and don’t drag one another down it seems. I think they will be happy together in the long term. Hugh hopes for them for sure!

I cannot understand the nights over and over in one week with the need for partying. Alcohol for all the friends, twice, and also going out. They need a reality check. It costs money! And health care is an other issue. How can they save up money living this way? Moving back in, I guess they do not pay a penny to her parents. Anyway: good luck with your future!😊

I had a paperrun with my two dogs. I'm female, by 17 years of age I purchased freehold my first of many houses. Now older I'm in a good financial position. Friends of mine, traveled the world. Now older, they are renting $700 each week. They regret not getting into a mortgage when they were younger. Research shows from ages 65 to 90, u will need $100000 each year for each person. Imagine bring 75 years old any paying 700 in rent. A global epidemic of a massive population of elderly, with not enough young people to provide an economy or staff to maintain the elderly for the next 40 years. It will be interesting to see how Governments handle this situation. The homeless elderly is huge. Heed this advise. Blessings.
