Up til now Shelby's mom has only been a walking red flag to me but this just crossed the line "I think it teaches the other children how life really is" Alright so up til now this series showcased a few aspects of Shelby's siblings: - "I hope she dies" boy - "I'm worried about Shelby" boy, coping his neglect by focusing his attention on "the same thing as mommy, if it's important to her and to me as well, she will notice me and she will love me" - a little girl who barely got one intervention since this all started (but she sure smiles a lot and jumps well on the trampoline) I know raising a disabled child is hard but I'm flabbergastered about how human nature is able to lie to itself to such an extent To me all that only hides a constant need of feeling useful / required rather than anything else. You wouldn't want more children knowing you're the carrier of an extremely crippling gene that will severely impede on a child's life expectency. That is just utter disrespect towards that poor eventual child and towards life in general. Imagine what pain your children must go through... I'm so done with her.

And I really don't understand Zoe's mum having another baby with the same guy, don't people know that contraception is available or what. She is being selfish, why not give your love to the child you do have. I think it's child abuse to bring more disabled kids into your world, knowing how they will suffer. Sh she needs therapy to figure out why she wants the attention of being a mom to disabled kids.

Totally agree! It's not like she doesn't have kids and is desperate to be a Mom, in fact it's the opposite because she's neglecting the kids she does have to get the attention her disabled child gives her. I get a real martyrdom from her which is selfish. I don't think it's intentional and I think she'd really benefit from counseling.

Shelbys mom rather get a another severely disabled child than adopt or stop and take care of her already existing children is not just selfish, its cruel. There are so many amazing children that need a home and you dont need to be blood related to be a real family. And they are not childless, how can they even say this? Shelbys life quality is questionable and her brother died and she carrys on like nothing is wrong with that. That makes me really sad actually.

Nathan is such a sweet, outgoing, joyful child, and I feel fairly certain that it's largely because his parents are SO unconditionally loving. From the very start, they've been so positive abut his worth, and have seen him as a unique individual, noticing his personality, his ability to learn and express himself. They seem like really kind, compassionate, intelligent people, and they're obviously so connected and in tune with each other as a couple as well (they often say the same thing at the same time - it's so cute!). I've really loved watching their family, and how adorable Nathan is.

Bless little Emily's heart; I think she felt like she was being tattled on for not catheterizing at the Dr.'s office and so she tried to lie and say she did catheterize like she was supposed to, and then when mom told the Dr. she might do it if he told her and so he did tell her, she thought she was being scolded by him for not doing it, even though he was nice about it. She just felt that way, and that's why she got teary eyed at the end.

I'd love more freedom without a lot of discomfort, cramping, swelling, pain, caused by Lymphoedema in the past 5 years or so, but I've never been able to persuade my own mum a wheelchair could revolutionise how far I could travel no matter how I was feeling at the time I wanted to get from A to b, be able to keep up with everybody else without having to ask everybody else to wait up while I rest on a bench or prop up on a post or a wall to take the immense weight off one foot at a time. My mum was just adamant I wouldn't manage a wheelchair with a white stick in my right hand as I'm vision impaired, but I know at least two people who are vision impaired who use power chairs or scooters with a wlong white cane as well.

You do realize that someone who has dwarfism actually have a lot of medical issues right? Your ever see little people big world? Both parents have dwarfism. Two different types. They adopted two children who also have dwarfism. The mother had to go through over 20 surgeries. Not for lengthening legs or anything, but medical to actually save her life. Her husband also had several surgeries. Their son(the one they adopted) had to have surgery as well. And so did their daughter that they adopted. Another family with dwarfism who also had a TV series also had several children with dwarfism. They too had to have surgeries due to comicatiins with dwarfism. Yes he is healthy right now at this moment, but with his type of dwarfism he could end up needing 20+ surgeries just to save his life.

Yeah her kids have certainly learned some things like how immature & selfish Mommy is, how Mommy is unable & unwilling to give each of her children the same attention and love as Shelbie. And now the village idiot is pregnant AGAIN despite the risks & dangers. What is she going to do if the new baby has the same disability? She can’t care for two such disabled children. And it’s upsetting to see that adorable little Shelbie unable to walk, talk or play or meaningfully interact with anyone. Her quality of life is basically non-existent. In truth, Vicki has a Charlie ‘hole’ and is unfairly keeping her alive to suffer just so Vicki can fill that ‘Charlie hole’ with Shelbie.
