Franchard Cuisiniere's Parcours Montagne is a 6km, 500 boulders long 'mountain training' circuit created back in the 1960s. Although rarely done these days, it has gained a reputation for being a very tough physical challenge.
With no preparation and little information, our attempt to complete it seems unlikely to succeed....

My wife and I started following a random orange circuit at 95.2 and it just kept going and going. Probably turned around to go home after 5 kilometers or so. No clue how far it really went but it certainly took us to some places we would've never gone without it's directions. What a magical place.

I have to say, I can see why they call this a mountaineering circuit - it’s definitely more about endurance over a long stretch of scrambling than it is about pure climbing. Great route for training for sure!

Just did the orange circuit at Rocher des Potets in October. Great way to do a lot of really cool but easy climbing while also paying homage to the people that developed these places :)

Nice video ! I do it usually in the opposite way as you (counterclockwise) but I want to try also to take it your way (clockwise). Best time here with a friend November 2022 3h55 for GB ! I really like this exercise and I think I can get under 3h30 it should be a real challenge. Don't make this circuit too famous 🤫 it's a secret Have fun in the forest !

doesn't even need to wipe his shoes before climbing on sandstone. Erosion isn't real.

Climbing on sandstone wearing approach shoes seems like a bad choice to me. Shame, as I would have enjoyed the video otherwise.

Something we thought about given we would normally wear rock shoes to boulder. Did a fair amount of research before the day and everything we found recommended approach shoes due to the sheer length of the circuit, including COSIROC, the group that does all the marking of the circuits, path work etc.. They do ask that people don’t wear big boots or try to do it in the wet, which is particularly bad for the rock. Trainers not recommended as not sticky enough..,
