@@prettynblue I'm not a girl. By the way, there are countless metrics used to show that the economy today is hopelessly inferior to the 1990s and that it will never return. I'm not going to do your homework for you though, if you want proof, it's very easy to find. If you don't, that's fine too, but I don't really care that the cost of living was higher in the 90s than the 30s or 40s. I'm alive now, I care about now, and the 90s weren't "magically" better - they were just better.
@maxrosenbaum85027 ай бұрын
@@prettynblue You didn’t misgender me, you just called me a girl when I’ve never been one. I’m not insulted, just surprised. We’re not talking about inflation. You can adjust any time period for inflation and observe the same thing - that the 90s were far more economically stable than the decades following. Like, I don’t understand why you’re saying I’m being nostalgic when I’m talking about information that’s data-driven. And I can absolutely comment on the state of things 26-36 years ago. I can even comment on things that happened before my lifetime. We have books, articles, journals, etc. and this is precisely why. So people can use historical context to better understand their current era. You yourself have strong opinions on events you weren’t alive for or present for. So either those are worthless shit, or maybe you need to take back that part about me not being able to understand those oh-so complex big adult intricacies of that robust 90s economy. You didn’t understand the world or US economy then and you don’t understand it now, either. Hello! Just came here to say that Vienetta is still a very popular ice cream treat here in the Netherlands. :) you can find it in almost every major grocery store in regular and mini sizes! Edit: I should be clear that I am an American and a child of the 90s who moved to Europe as an adult lmao. Beef tallow fries in the 90s were the bee’s knees! Since fries are technically a Belgian import, it’s worth noting that the Belgians still make them with beef tallow instead of vegetable oil. We’ve really gotten so far away from the roots of good fries. 😔 I’m just glad we Americans still don’t slather our fries in mayonnaise like they do out here lmao

Vienetta still exists here in the UK too. In the nineties it was what we had after lasagne for Sunday lunch. It seemed so sophisticated! 🍷🍷🍨🍨

When I was really little my family lived in Germany so we tried mayo with the fries, and it's still my favorite way to eat them.

Thank you for actually explaining the McDonald’s Coffee lawsuit and going into details. The fact that they turned around and tried to blame the poor woman is so sad and disgusting. I remember going over the case in my business law class in college, and I believe my professor mentioned that her settlement was equal to just one days worth of coffee sales at McDonald’s. I really appreciate your videos and all of the research and hard work you put into them.

Mc Donald's was elite in the 90's and Crystal Clear Pepsi was good! I was born 1984 so I remember all these things ❤

Crystal Pepsi got released again a few years ago as a limited time thing the same year they released Ecto Cooler for the female Ghostbustersmovie. Personally I really liked Crystal Pepsi and want them to bring it back again.

Little Ceasars used to be pretty tasty, but it's awful these days. I actually got a LC pizza today, and it had such a weird taste I couldn't eat more than a slice 😢

Great episode. I'm from the London. I remember going to Planet Hollywood in London a few times. The food was okay. Nothing memorable. We never got the KFC honey wings. I remember the mad cow disease. As you can imagine, there was a cover-up with that. I remember ordering takeaways more. Buying more ready meals LOL. I was eating a lot of processed foods. I would cook a bit at the weekends. It's really interesting to remember what I used to eat because it's quite different to what I eat now.

I was Born in 1982 and am a bit annoyed that she got the date that Wendys introduced its Spicy Chicken Sandwich wrong. I VIVIDLY remember when Wendys launched it and trying it for the first time: 1992.

Sure, we ate at Planet Hollywood often enough to make a judgement during our vacations. My mom liked that sort of theme restaurant, so we would visit the Hard Rock Cafe or House of Blues, or Planet Hollywood in any city we happened to visit. The food was certainly not bad, but it was also not the best in town either. It was a decent quality of food that likely was overpriced though, leading to that assessment, but you understood you weren't just there for the food, you were there to take pictures with all the cool stuff from movies you recognized there. That was the great thing about the Planet Hollywood locations, they all got different stuff donated and bought and replicated from all over, it really elevated the concept of theme restaurant to where visiting was an event in itself, and everyone got something different out of the place. I didn't care if they had Dorothy's slippers or Elvis' jacket, but my mom did, and she wasn't nearly as interested in the Batman or Aliens or Terminator stuff as I was.

I went to a Planet Hollywood in the 90s on a trip with a friend's family. I was maybe 13-14 and a staunch vegetarian. There was not a thing on the menu for me 😢. I think I got a side salad and french fries -- and the fries were floppy and unseasoned. Yum. The decor was cool tho.
