I have a bit of a hard time with the extreme flying and jumping stuff. One of my classmates nosedived his plane into the ground in Grade 12 and has had brain damage ever since. Another very close friend died at the age of 22. He was a flight instructor and was fogged in between the mountain ranges. He tried for the airport in the valley and ended up in the lake in January. They never found his body. I had been ice skating with him two days before. OMG! @ 7:36 I could not believe seeing the cheapest electrical crimper being used. When it comes it comes to electrical connections, bare wire crimps are hardly the way to go. I always tin the wires with solder, then crimp using proper connector, then fill connector with solder to inhibit future corrosion/oxidization, then slide the preplanned heat shrink over connection (or apply multiple coats of liquid tape) and you got a connection that you can trust your life with. A quality crimper is often hard to find and the best unit available can be found at harbor freight for $59.99. It is a hydraulic, one handed unit that delivers 10 tons of crimping power. You cannot beat it... makes crimping fun!

During my first year of sobriety, I dreamt of being able to jump long distances, just as I was falling asleep. At first, it was like being tethered on bungie cords and I started with 100 feet, then a block or two, and by the end of my first year, I was flying unassisted. I realized later that this might have had something to do with the use of Jumpers when I was a kid. The fact that we learned to walk in them, might also suggest we can learn to fly by them as well. Good luck to you! Your an inspiration to me! I appreciate the fact that you keep it simple. There's so much nonsense out there. Think the hardest part of paramotoring is the ground. I had the same problem with motorcycles. The older you get the longer it takes to heal. Buzzing close to the ground, just like on a bike is the occasional bug in the eye or mouth. Of course you can have them spray in through an air vent on a low and slow chopper too. It's the wires that can kill you though. In a can or on a string the ground is still hard. Wish I was about 40 years younger.

Depends what value you put on your life. An extra 6k could make all the difference when things get interesting in the air.

If anything he just needs a good chute. If the motor dies he can glide back down right?

There are microphones that cost more than 1k, but this machine capable of shoving a human potato into the sky is too expensive at 1k?

Would rental be an option? If you find a decent school, do they also rent motors for you to use once you learn? I know a rental paramotor sounds sketchy af, but I would trust a school. If anything, they don't want to be sued and ruin their reputation and most likely they want you to be safe and spread word of mouth. You can always trust money and how much people want it.

Captain Fister thinks you are going to die. I don't want you to die. I am not sure why Captain Fister thinks you are going to die. Captain Fister disabled comments so I cant ask him. Now I dont want to buy from Captain Fister. It seems that Captain Fister was trying to capitalize off of someone elses name. Captain Fister should mind his own business, or perhaps thats the problem, maybe Captain Fister is not very good at business.

I see that, I'm interested in the paramotor sport but it seams that the dealers all say theirs is the best and all other makes and models will kill you and they go on to discribe in detail how horrible your death will be. Kinda killing the dream for me...

Kelly Davis it’s hard to trust anyone when there are interests that will affect what they tell you. Either personal products or sponsorships. I think some get a bad reputation but actually know what they’re talking about. But I can’t do the whole “you’re gonna die!” Crap. Doesn’t make me want to buy what they want me to buy.
@xephonism6 жыл бұрын
Kelly Davis the secret is all of them can kill you, its which one do you think will be less likely to kill you. The secret is buy a reliable motor brand (Air conception, vittorozi, miniplane) and a frame that has decent stability, with netting that will prevent things from flying into your prop. This one for example everything is going into the prop when it flys back.
