It’s clearly important & can be essential in certain situations, but the 1st is 1st for a reason. Talking should always come first & is far more commonly necessary. It’s imperfect, but nearly always preferable. Violence is only the right answer when truly necessary.

@Raymond Tremblay I highly suggest that you go to a local gun store and check them out for yourself before assuming that they are all bad. My parents were the most anti-gun people that I knew, but as soon as they took their first steps into a shop they can’t stop thinking about what gun they want next. Go through the process and tell me no one needs an AR-15.

It’s not that special when you look at it from a technical perspective, it just looks different then what inexperienced people are used to. I highly encourage you to go to a local gun shop so that you can really see what these rifles can do.

5th amendment also include Due process (that the state must respect all legal rights that are owed to a person) No double jeopardy(you can't convict someone of a crime two time) Noself-incrimination(Being forced or coerced to testify against oneself are not allowed) and Eminent domain (right of a government or its agent to expropriate private property for public use, with payment of compensation)

I didn't get past 1:01 re: the 2nd amendment. Belinda states that the original intent of the 2nd amendment was to protect the colonists from the British forces. That can't be the case. The Revolution ended in 1783. The Constitution was written in 1787 - FOUR years AFTER the war ended. Before that, the Articles of Confederation governed the new country. What else did she get wrong??

@SquezeCheezeTV I don't feel unsafe while not owning a gun, because it is very unlikely that anyone in my surroundings ownes one, or if he/she has one, to use it for the wrong purpose because of the tests people have to go through in order to get a liscense. Of course, the risks are still there, last year this was proven in Holland, but it is much less of a risk than I understand this is in the USA.
