A 4x3 Piston Door For Minecraft Java

In this video I show you how to build a pretty fast 4x3 piston door on Java
For those of you worrying that I've switched over to Java, I haven't. I recently built a PC and I plan on using it to make videos for both Bedrock and Java. It's also why the edit was slightly different.

hey, question, ive managed to make the door passively closed and operable by button by placing out the redstone and using a red stone torch, however, i cant manage to make it operable on both sides, only the outside, any tips on how i might be able to do this?

Did you double check to see if the input from the other side is going into the torch?

how do i get the lever to be on the outside or like above the floor instead of under? i've tried alot of things but they just leave a big chunk in the middle of the door

I put the lever there like that just so the input doesn't get repowered by those observers going into those wool blocks right behind. If you want to move the lever just move the four center pieces of dust out by a block.

I tried to implement this design today in java 1.19.2, but I run into a problem. When the door opens, the end result is that the top center two pistons don't pull up what were originally the center two blocks, leaving them one block lower than they were supposed to be at the end of the cycle. This appears to be because the timing is off. Is this just a problem on my end, or is it something about the design that broke in 1.19? Can other people confirm that it works in 1.19?

I'd double check the timings, it should still work in 1.9.2

How come the top 2 pistons at 1:50 don’t activate and retrieve the blocks like how it did for you when you pulled the lever?

nvm just added a redstone torch that I can turn off w/ a button and a pulse extender

@@illumiriley7030 replace the green wool and the lever with redstone dust. Place a block one block away from the redstone dust line, then place a redstone torch facing the line on the side of the block that you just placed. You can now place a button linked to the block by redstone dust, and you got yourself a nice passively closed piston door, openable via a button.

Connect the door to a t-flip-flop and then wire that to your inputs on each side

I mean that depends on where you place the lever, just look through and make sure everything is in the right spot.

@@nowaitimconfused82 I think the problem I was having was that you can't connect both sides or the form a feedback loop. I'm new to this, and it took me a while to realize that I could use two repeater in between the sides to stop that. (also, thanks for replying. I really love this door. Now figure out how to make it flush. (; )

I just put the lever there like that so I wouldn't need to use repeaters. If you are building this in your own world I'd just connect those redstone lines another block outwards so they don't get repowered by the observers.

I replaced the lever with 2 redstone dust in the gap to move it, now the door broke and i have to rebuild it :_(

I'm sorry, when you build it again make sure to connect the dust away from those blocks that get powered by the observers so it doesn't break.

I don't know. Did you perhaps put redstone dust in front of those two blocks where the lever was placed? That could be your issue, when you add the input bring the middle four pieces of dust out one block.
