Thanks for another great video. Someday I'll need to get a spanner or two. I'd like to try a Bahco. Since painting my house I have lots of left over rolls of painters tape. Usually it is blue. I find it it tears easy into different shapes and is great for protecting finishes to prevent any damage. The adhesive doesn't pull paint off or leave residue!!!

One of the things I like about the Bhaco adjustable wrenches is their slimness. Cheap adjustable wrenches tend to be thicker because they are made of inferior steel. My friend bought a cheap wrench, made in China and sold by a famous DIY store a week ago and the first time he tried to remove a bolt on his trailer hitch the wrench broke! I mean it actually broke just below the head as if it were made of plaster. I have never seen such a shoddy tool in my life!

Hello, Keith, I’ve been meaning to say something to you about your use of BAHCO spanners: it was bad enough when you extolled the virtues of your 4” spanner (which of course I purchased to add to my Crescent wrenches; these are not spanners as they were made in the U.S.). Now you are using not only more than one BAHCO spanner at the same time, but also different sizes. Am I now going to need to buy another 4”, plus two 6” and two 8”? It’s not the initial cost, it’s the shipping charges. Cheers, Charlie

I agree most fittings on Models are tightener far too much, but a Tork wrench might be useful if the Tirk pressure was specified,

Don't you think that Torque wrenches are a physically a bit too big for these small parts?
@steamboatmodel Жыл бұрын
@@keithappleton Yes most Torque wrenches are to big, but there are some small ones. the Idea is to impress on people how little force is needed on models.

@@keithappleton There are small torque wrenches used with radio frequency connectors (like sma) but the available range of sizes is limited and I'm quite certain they do not match the ones used in model engineering.

@@AdrianPardini I'd guess a torque screwdriver might work if you made some ba sockets to fit it?

how much heat can a silicone ring take before failing?
@keithappleton Жыл бұрын
That depends on whether or not it is heat resistant Silicone . . . the heat ratings are usually printed on the tubes . . .
