As someone who works two warehouse jobs - I agree. Having my schedule filled up just enough to keep me busy and on my feet has help me not procrastinate & waste time doing nothing. I had too much time on my hands and it actually made me lazier because I thought I had ample to do whatever, whenever. That is absolutely not the case. The time I have off, I cherish & focus on staying on schedule. It also gives me an excuse not to indulge in frivolous links such as parties, family, procrastination missions. Just stack, work, sleep, gym, eat, and invest in my dream on my off days.

Learn to drive a forklift to survive the apocalypse, check, jk. Other than the prepper stuff, good advice. I was taught to "Go for your dream/purpose" every time I asked for guidance. Took me a lot of aimless wandering to figure out that you decide on something, and then you *make* that your purpose. Sure some people know from age 5 that they want to be a vet and save the gorillas. But very many of us don't, and that's fine. But then key is to rationally choose a goal. I sometimes wonder why our parents thought the above quote was the best advice for finding direction in life. Probably they had less options overall, and had the overarching goal of avoiding poverty. While we were/are flooded and overwhelmed by options.

And for sure bro, we have a ton of option & like you said, it does get overwhelming but I think it all comes down to what you really want to do. I'm so F'ing happy I finally got a (9-5) job after applying for countless jobs for about a year. I love the structure, since my life gets empty, chaotic, repetitive and bland when I don't have any external structure. I always used to get semi sick as a kid whenever there was a vacation, just couldn't handle being dependent on providing that structure to my life internally.

This is great advice. Now, the job market is hard right now, and this is coming from a college graduate. So, leaving a 9-6 (sometimes 9-7) is hard. At least at this moment. I am figuring out ways to find a new career path. Thank you, Eli for the content👏🏾!

I get so undercut on hours I went from working a 9-3 to a 9-1. I just reinvented myself by going through my decades worth of games and trading it in for better titles in the current retro videogame market, had to use up years-worth of savings as a buffer but overall I’m happy with where I’m at currently

Idk man for me it's pretty simple, I don't want to live with my parents or other siblings, I don't want to live with uncles or aunts or friends etc. I also don't want to be homeless. So I take my ass to work. I have my own place, my own things, my own life. A job is essential (for me) and it's nice to have somewhere to be.

If I had two jobs in my life two absolutely escape family, friends and my hometown - while being financially stable, living on my own, with transporting - it would be Amazon or Military. Best decisions, I made in my life. No obligations and I tell people I’m working and it’s government orders.

Tbh I feel like God put this KZbin video on my feed to see cus I was really confused with what I wanted to do in life, and i got offered a opportunity to work in finances it is a 9-5 job and I have learned SO MUCH about real estate, spreadsheets, tax deductions etc, and at the same time when I see people on KZbin saying a 9-5 is a scam or whatever I have been learning so much. Thank you! I have a full time job and always wanted to be an artist / own my own business, but btw if I didn’t get my degree and do this job, I wouldn’t have the skills or ethic to ever pursue that. It’s hard to work on side hobbies with a 9-5, but the structure and routine is good. Deleting social media had made me productive outside of work - I really struggled before deleting social media.

I agree. I’ll also like to add that one of the ways I learn about & follow my spirit is when I come across something that I’m not good at. For example; showing up to work on time. I’ve found that most of my pushbacks come from when I’m serving other people. We can say that a 9-5 is one of the keys to reinventing yourself but I guess as of now, it is the key for me.
