I'm 100% guilty of this too, but I also kinda give myself a bit of leeway because the stuff I watch on KZbin is at least a little more educational and catered to my interests than social media to which i usually just doom scroll through old friends and memes 😭 But yeah, it is hypocritical anyways

For anyone that finds themselves getting lost in KZbin shorts- open the app, find the section where it shows the 4 thumbnails for KZbin short and click the 3 dots at the top of the shorts thumbnails, then click “not interested” do the same for every shorts video you see while scrolling down your home page and then reopen KZbin after. It’ll get rid of the shorts

Me too. Sometimes i catch myself quitting out of KZbin and back out to my main screen and then i open it up again, straight away! Especially since Shorts came in, they're crazy, hours can go by. The stupid thing is I'd rather be watching the long vids but the shorts are all over every feed and they suck me back in with something interesting. I used to always be reading books. I haven't picked up a book in maybe 4 years.

I start out watching STEM videos on KZbin, and an hour later, I am watching full length theatrical films on here. They really want my watch time.

I would recommend disabling Shorts via the ReVanced mod on the app, and add-ons on the desktop browser.

You don’t have to delete youtube. Just look up how to get youtube to stop recommending videos. Also, if you have no history, they have no data. No data means they can’t recommend videos. You could also turn off shorts

Ur videos are okay but don’t agree with some of your points. People can be good with money even if raised with parents who were not. I am an example of that. We’re not destitute to what our parents did. There a lint in life where we have to stop blaming our childhood.
@Eli.G12Ай бұрын
And that’s why I said “there are two extremes. You either avoid being bad at money like your parents, or lean towards being bad like them.” We’re both saying the same thing
@buyfixrentrepeat1270Ай бұрын
@@Eli.G12 I gotcha now, keep up the videos and self improvent. I been doing self improvement stuff for 20 years when only guys like Jim Rohn and Brian Tracey were talking about it. I am glad to see how it has grown so much in the last while. I think that your videos can help alot of young people who are needing something like this.

Thank you, Mr. Sense Maker. All those $20 mil < 1 year are doing is catching you in their sales funnel to buy their “system”, “e-book”, “webinar”, “course”, “training” or series of all of those. What worked for them works for them now because you buying it. You $20 or $2,000 out of their $20 mil. The only way to find out how You are gonna make what You could make this year is to apply yourself and figure out what way(s) will work for you and change those as necessary on the path towards your own definition of success. The only way is to start and find out. You can ask yourself what Your 1st step should be. Ask yourself “what’s the most valuable thing I can do right now for my family?” Or “… towards my goal?” An answer will come. Maybe it’s wait. Maybe it’s journal. Maybe it’s figure out what you can sell. To afford that accounting or business class or skill training course you have been dreaming of. Or making something for somebody. Or doing a load of laundry. Or washing your dishes. Or setting up a desk area you feel comfortable working in. Or going to the library and have access to all those resources for free… if you are willing to spend the time to read. Even if it takes more time or is slower - maybe you have children and keep getting interrupted - you can ask “Am I willing to continue to keep recommitting to this? Or is it taking too much from other priorities right now? At this point in my life?” “Should I re-evaluate this in 3-6 months? When the kids all go to school?” And find out. Feel it out. For you. Then, when you do make it at your own pace, it will have been manageable not abusive to yourself. And then you can sell that system. Start by finding out how you can make $5 today. Tomorrow see if you can make $10. Next month, $100… or whatever. Start at $50. Every step counts. You’ve already begun improving just by showing this interest in it. Thank you. This video is hypnotic. Inspires more creativity than passivity. Grateful.

Thank you for sharing- I think it goes to show that tech companies can make just about anything addictive. I keep trying to switch to RSS feeds (since you can also subscribe to a youtube channel via RSS) since it's easier to curate your experience, though it's tricky

Ok man, let me be honest. A few months ago I watched that video of yours about leaving social media. I got so motivated, that I decided to do everything really fast, since I was (and still is) also broke. So what do you think happened next? Of course, by our masters' magic algorithms I was recommended a particular online-school that teaches you how to get rich quick. I know, don't say it. And I thought "what the fuck, how bad can it be, sounds legit!" and joined, and I grinded for these few months up until this point. Until eventually I just broke like a tree stick. Don't get me wrong, the knowledge is good there, and the teachers are great, although nothing special - as usual. However, they push students really hard, I thought it's good, and I didn't think I'd break. But I did. So here I am now learning same lesson the hard way. Thank you for sharing the knowledge!

Dude, you have a great way with words and are a really fantastic reporter of your own experience. I've done experiments before with various kinds of entertainment abstinence and the results have been mixed. It's really cool to hear your unfiltered experience of trying similar stuff. It's cool how you just relay your honest experience instead of overhyping the benefits to get views. Makes me feel more normal about my own experiences. Loving your content man, keep it up..

dude this is so relatable and exactly what I'm going through right now. Last week I finished "Atomic Habits" on Audible and now I'm listening to "Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck". The books go very well together. Thanks for your thoughts and sharing because a lot of us are going through the same things.
