As a 54 year old black rocker from Detroit who got mistreated by the other black people for the first 30 years of his life for being into white and black rock bands I just want to say i'm proud of Death extreamly proud and iI hope to meet and jam with them someday

"mistreated"?
@stephenpaulharper17 күн бұрын
Really? While that's awful, it might be a Detroit thing. My Black friends in Atlanta were just as much into music from other ethnicities as I was. If they got any grief from it. I was unaware. Maybe that's naive of me, but I doubt it.

Wow and watching the documentary you guys are awesome wow that's all I can say is wow amazing

These guys are legends. They aren't well known because true punk bands don't sell out to big labels that want to control their music creativity. Not everybody has a price...something that the extreme rich don't understand.

Good music, but they should have gotten a different name. That name scares me. They could have been bigger than the Beach Boys.

Awesome performance...there's a metal band called Death who came along later...fuck them...these boys are the real deal...cool as fuck

Growing up in Detroit being deep in the local music scene, MC5 The Frost, Iggy, ( the Grande, Eastown, Mich. Palace) at the time these guys were out, I'm not sure how I totally missed them. Weird. Oh, by the way, they're really good.

To be fair, the MC5 was probably the first protopunk band from Detroit, but I sound like a jerk for saying that. Either way, this is a great band.

These guys were out around the same time as the MC5, punk didn't come till later, 75,76.

It pisses me right off to see live music with such high energy, and people are just standing their like statues just staring at them! Get your ass up and boogie, dance, bang your head, slam dance, mosh---SOMETHING! For all they been through, they deserve way more respect than just to be stared at!

Why are so many of my favorite bands Power Trios?
@impalaman97073 жыл бұрын
Me Too! Death, James Gang, Budgie, Grand Funk Railroad, Jimi Hendrix Experience, Rush, Bang, Sir Lord Baltimore, Triumph---I had this dream once of putting together a rock festival that had nothing but Power trios---and it would have been the best rock festival ever because power trios kick ass!

They were one the American punk bands that the British punk bands copied, and they sold them back to us a few years later.

@nonesovile88123 жыл бұрын
All I've known was "death" from Tampa but after seeing a documentary about this band, these fellas were forgotten legends for the better half of 30 plus years. As much as Florida's death has been a legendary band you can't deny these cats for what they have done.

I don't think those bands were born yet. Although 'death' the metal band was I'm sure. I haven't listened for years were good though almost abstract progressive almost. I could be wrong, but heard that guy passed away.
