Does it matter if the finger is stretched or relaxed during sensory NCS? I had two of them done. In the first the amplitude was a bit lower (still normal). The fingers were relaxed. After that i another ncs, only this time the doctor said the amplitude depends on how far away on the finger you place the electrode. This time the amplitude was much higher. And also he performed it while my finger was not relaxed but stretched. Does stretching affect the amplitude? He said everything is fine. But know I ask what if my amplitude is so good only because the nerve was stretched?

I’ve had twitches wide spread but mostly calfs quads and eyelids for about 4 months now. I’ve seen 2 neurologist one at 2 months and one at 4 months. Had EMG and NCS both were normal. Reflexes and blood was good. Ct scan of brain good as well. I’m going crazy. Is this bfs?

Hi Dr. Another nice video would be top 20 NCS that are most often done with an in depth practical demo. Just think a lot of people would flock to such a video. Practical demos like you allready make are quite rare and the practical steps are often skipped, yours are the best propably.

Many thanks! I have very deliberately not done so as learning how to perform these types of studies, and even more importantly how to apply them to individual patients, is in my personal opinion, very much for an apprenticeship. The same is true for the EEG side. There are other channels and online courses that do so for both modalities, but they'll never replace the extensive clinical experience of learning from a pro. Very best! Simon
