I have been using this for the last 2-3 years & it has helped me finish larger opponents in the gym. I weigh around 135 and finishing the kimura on training partners 30+ lbs is a tall task. Thank you very much, Tarik.

Very good technique ! Could you please show how to get the Tarikoplata from the bottom ? And also could you show your details on the ankle lock ! Thanks
@TarikBJJ4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I really appreciate it! If you would like to support me, I've already made two instructionals with BJJ Fanatics covering both the Tarikoplata and the belly down ankle lock 😄 it will definitely be subjects I will bring up later in this channel 👍🏼

I did exactly what you showed there few weeks ago, but! I could not finish, hand was 🔒 too tight couldn't get proper leverage. But one day! 💪
@TarikBJJ4 жыл бұрын
Hey Mika! That's awesome! What might have happened is that your crook of the knee slided to far up on his forearm. To reestablish the wrist control, I turn back in towards my opponents legs and adjust before I proceed to go for the finish 🙌🏼😄

I'm very grateful for share this technique. Is this legal on blue belt in in IBJJF?
@TarikBJJ3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! Yes it is 😄 Though it might be illegal for juveniles and kids depending if they look at it as a omoplata.

Is there a name for the position you got the kimura from?
@TarikBJJ2 жыл бұрын
A typical set up would be from side control and stepping over their head into a top kimura position. 🙌🏼😄

Do you ever transition into inside sankaku if they catch your leg between theirs when you throw your leg over? I’ve been doing that when it happens to me but I’m just wondering if that’s viable in higher levels
@TarikBJJ4 жыл бұрын
For sure! :D Though, I personally prefer to either fight to free the trapped leg or roll forward for a kimura (this would also depend on the other legs positioning).

How much do you train to be a bjj athlete?
@TarikBJJ4 жыл бұрын
I usually train jiu jitsu 9 times a week and strength 3 times a week. But it depends on the season and it's been different with the pandemic situation. But that's not necessarily what works for you. You will have to find out what works best and gives you the most progress 😄

Hi Bro. Thanks for the knowleges. I do Tarikoplata at sparring for one year: it works pretty nice :) BUT some referees said me that they would disqualify me if i do that move as blue beld, because sometimes the opponents are tapping because of biceps slicers :( How do you feel about this?
@TarikBJJ4 жыл бұрын
Hey bro! Thanks for watching! That's awesome! To be honest I haven't had any experience with getting any warnings from referees (even as a blue belt). Not that I can talk for all referees, but I've never seen anyone get disqualified for it. On the other hand it is probably dependent on how you finish the technique, if you lock your legs like a triangle it might feel more like a biceps slicer for your opponent. 😄 Hope this helps! Have a good one!

Sure thing! You can try armbar instead or go to mount.
