Ugh, bears are such a nuisance. I had one pull the solid corrugated drain pipe off my rain catchment and drag it a few hundred yards away. Let's just say it's now perforated pipe.

Juniper is so adorable!! I’m sorry that the pesky bear did so much damage. And if anyone leaves comments on what you should be doing, like the siding on your house, just ignore them because they don’t live there. It’s always a pleasure to see you guys, love you bunches and I always love seeing the different projects that you do around the homestead. Whether it’s milling wood, fixing goat feeders, building, gardening, or just repairing bear messes, you guys are awesome with it all! 😘❤️❤️❤️❤️

High-pressure washer attach to water drilling head to drill a water well a few feet a day until you reach water, Slide perforated PVC pipe down and measure water draw. Finish with pump installation and PVC pipe. Bury the lines below the frost line to the cistern in the house or inside the well house. Just a little bit at a time as afforded with rented equipment

Watching from GA. Just a note on the tractor/backhoe. When you are digging put your front bucket down to stabilize the tractor. When you want to move back, just reach around and lift the front bucket, pull up the outriggers, set your backhoe bucket down right behind the tractor and extend the backhoe out away from the tractor. You will scoot the tractor along and never get out of the backhoe seat. Then put your outriggers back down, put the bucket back down and keep digging. Saves a lot of time when digging a trench.

Yeah, so much to do. You have all the daily living stuff, and then “breakages” occur that you have to make time for. And at some point have a little time here and there for new stuff. And what I mean by new stuff is the siding, water line, etc…. Little here and there, it will get done. Good videos, thats for including us in.

I appreciate the honesty of your videos and especially learning from mistakes. You can't always put the problems right immediately as you have to prioritise tasks. Learing by doing is a great way to learn - but sometimes frustrating. The thinking through of tasks in terms of the added value to your lives is really important: what task, if accomplished, will save many other tasks from having to be done. So I assume that a bore hole is just not doable with a solar powered well and pump? Anyway, it's your life and your dream and it is a privilege to share your struggles and unfolding progress.

Hello Greg and Katie. If your design for the goat feeder does not work as you want, look up no waste goat feeders. There are so many that I did not want to choose just one. I was going to suggest putting the water line in a metal pipe, but when you said 400 meters, I was sure that was not a good plan. Galvanized pipe is like $30 per 8 feet here and you would need 164 pieces of it. I am sure you will come up with a plan just short of killing the bear. Have good days!
