The People's Court

The plaintiff alleges that the defendant, her former landlord, barged in on her one day and spun her around so hard that she now suffers from a disease called “tremor.” He’s refusing to return her security deposit, so she’s suing for triple damages. The defendant says he used the deposit for unpaid rent. He claims the plaintiff is blinded by greed.

It could actually indicate Parkinson's. If I recall correctly, Parkinson's can cause tremors, but those tremors go away if you give those muscles a task, such as holding a pencil or papers.

I went back and watched it again after reading this comment, and she literally does not have a single hand shake until she talks about having tremors.
@artistjoh
@artistjoh 3 жыл бұрын
@@pseudobean3827 That is true, however the tremors would return once the task is no longer being done. In this case the tremors never return no matter what the hand is, or is not, doing. There is also the issue that the demonstrated tremors had the appearance of controlled movements rather than involuntary ones. Of course it is possible that real tremors do exist, but they are too subtle to “look obvious”, and that the woman is exaggerating them to look good for the judge. The limited nature of her “medical evidence” plus her generally slowish demeanour suggests that she might have some form of progressive degenerative disease but she was totally unable to link it to a claimed “spin around” and that whatever “tremors” we were seeing were highly likely to be concocted for effect in the case. The judge’s body language suggested that while she was going to be sympathetic until she saw actual evidence of fraud, that she wasn’t fully buying the reality of the tremors she was being presented with.

It's amazing she didn't have any hand tremors for most of the court case until she felt it was necessary for the judge to see. It's so disgusting to see someone try to blame "restless leg syndrome and tremors" on a former landlord as a way of getting money. Purely a scam. If he really did assault her- with witnesses- I agree with Harvey it would be a whole different lawsuit, but this was just frivolous. We need to start charging plaintiffs for court fees and time when they file stupid lawsuits that clog up our legal system. Do your research. Get on the internet and see if you have an actual case.

Tremors and slurred speech are clear signs of a neurological disorder, and it's usually genetic. Restless leg syndrome is also usually genetic, or it can be caused by levels of iron or dopamine in the brain. Neither of these can be caused by someone pushing your arm. Agreed. Sure, it may not be street drugs and they may be prescribed these medications (narcotics/benzos) but you can tell they are overmedicating or at least on too high of a dose. I also have essential tremors. It affects my head and hands. It is very noticeable! I am often asked if I have Parkinson's. It's definitely getting worse with age. I can no longer do any of the fine work that I used to enjoy like cross-stitching, and cake decorating. I can hardly sign my name. It has NOTHING to do with physical trauma (just one of the many reasons that they sent me to a psychologist. I witness someone trying to shoot my dad. Any time a Plaintiff is suing for the statutory maximum, you know it's a dubious claim. Add to it that the Plaintiff is going to small claims court for return of security deposit instead of pursuing medical malpractice or passional injury first shows where this lady's priorities are. Oh wait, it's FL. Why am I not surprised?

Folks, sorry to keep making "add-ons". As she's being introduced & Harvy Levin announces her case, she sits there, NO tremors, but at 0:28, watch as the plaintiff's hands FIRST begins to shake, remember, I said "first began to shake", look at 0:28, she wipes her nose, (UGH !!) then FINALLY at 0:28, she looks down, then sort of covers her eyes with her, ALL OF A SUDDEN, shaking/trembly right hand, but she sneaks a good peek between her shaky & trembly fingers on her right hand. When she realizes no one is watching, she stops with the trembly, shaking hands.This is SO, SO FAKE !!!
