As a player with 2000 hours I think this guide was great. There were a few things you didn’t touch on but overall you covered almost all the basics. Everyone reading this comment that just got rust, (I would definitely recommend so) it’s an amazing game and it’s really fun especially when you get good at it. There may be things that discourage you but just keep practicing and do your best and I promise it will be worth it.

My favorite monument for when I don’t have much loot is the light house. The recycler and all those barrels will give you the stuff you need to start off. It has no rads and you’ll usually only find one other person there. You will usually find bodies on the beach you can turn to bone weapons to defend yourself in the light house.

Not trying to hate or anything, but on forced wipes BPs are wiped at the server owners discretion. Most server owners opt to do that, but official Rust servers and other server owners do not wipe BPs every force wipe. Keep up the good content!

With diving gear you can also farm under water ship wrecks and rock formations with a lot of boxes as well, usually these spots are Not contested

My first long range weapon was a Revolver... Just bought the game today (3/4/21). Then a Rifle. Didn't even get the chance to get a Bow yet. And you're right about going into a sever with low population. It's like COD or Vigor. Next time I'll go to a chill server to learn.

Rust veteran here (1800+ hrs), this was an amazing starting video, and has a lot of useful info for beginners. However there are a few tips that are more of opinions than tips, like the dome jump can be much easier by crouching to the edge, or that locking your tc can sometimes be a bad thing (if you know you are going to lose a raid, leaving your tc unlocked reduces the chance of the raider breaking and greifing, making your base easier to take back.) Also something that was kind of addressed, “gear fear” is different in rust than other games, as keeping a gun until you can research it will allow you to craft many more and learn much faster with less work (I know this was addressed but the gear fear tip was definitely misleading.) Thank you for making this, as it is helping the community grow and get better, just make sure to keep this in mind!

Farming shipwrecks underwater is so stonks btw. The big crates have comparable loot tables to brown crates and the small ones have barrel loot tables but slightly more components.

the way you leave, recycle and keep components changes throughout the wipe so keep what you need always.

Yes, that is true. I just figured that beginners won't be crafting C4 or roadsign armor sets so, I decided to say that some comps should be recycled. But yes, generally you need all comps. (except propane tanks. fuck propane tanks. me and my homies hate propane tanks.)

I just started playing the game a day ago and I can't really understand the choices why to keep these and to recycle the others 13:50. I usually recycle all the items u told me to keep and the other way around

Essentially, the components that are shown are used for crafting. Eg. Gears for garage doors, pipes for guns, rope for crossbows and traps, different bodies for different guns etc.

Components are completely up to the blueprints that you have to what you want to keep all that you want to recycle. I mean I get what you're saying, but there's many times that I've needed to keep blades and recycle rifle body SMG bodies

I'm starting out because of the summer sale and this dude helped me out. He saw me when I was hiding and he sade "I will through an ax at you if you don't stop moving. I stoped and he had pretty good clothes. He saw that I was cold. He brought me to a campfire and gave me 4 dear meat and 1 pork that I cooked. He had a base but I didn't see it lol.

You'll always find more. But until you have the scrap for T2 or T3 bench, may as well recycle what you won't be using anyway so you can get there faster.

Whats a green card do? And why do they wipe the servers every week and month? Its coming to consoles in May and this is quite a bit to take in honestly. But if you can get 1000+ hrs out of a $50 game thats not bad.

the green card is used to open up green card puzzles. the puzzles usually contain a couple of brown loot boxes and a blue card. Yeah, it's a bit tough to get started but if you find it fun, the learning curve shouldn't deter you;)
