Slipknot is an absolute anomaly. Absolutely crazy but extremely talented musicians. They captured lightning in a bottle; their music is a literal representation of an emotion called rage. Hate them or love them, they truly are once in a lifetime.

So my dad is a Metallica/ hard rock fan, should I take him to a slipknot concert even if he says it’s okay?
@905Review3 жыл бұрын
I guess it depends how open-minded he is, Slipknot is quite different but I imagine it wouldn't be too hard for him to get behind their singles/more popular songs. Never seen them myself but I'd think their performance on-stage alone would make it worthwhile!
@Kronical694203 жыл бұрын
I took my cousin because the tickets were super cheap. Shes more into drum and bass, Industrial and New Wave. It blew her away. She fell in love with the percussion. Shes not a hardcore fan, but she will never say no if I have a ticket for her. One of the other reasons she enjoyed it was because everyone was so nice. Slipknot promotes treating everyone like family if they love metal. So going to a concert means hanging with several thousand happy people. My cousin actually disappeared for about an hour during the concert because she ended up hanging with a bunch of randos on the way to the beertent. It happens. lol

Yes he should appreciate Slipknot. My wife grew up with Metallica, Maiden, Korn, Deftones, Slayer. For Valentine’s Day on the Iowa Tour I took her to the Show. We got to meet the entire band after the show. Joey was so cool. He brought us over to meet everyone. Paul was in his own world. Mick and Jim were joking back and forth. Joey went into the bus jumping back out with a bag of all sorts of Slipknot stuff. A limited press of their first album, a unique shirt that was not sold anywhere, he threw in drumsticks and guitar picks used from the show. They did say thanks for being a fan.

@@southpoundham after paul died their whole we're a family mentality just vanished. i love slipknot but compared to s/t they do somewhat feel like a brand now. the stories behind all the masks and the meanings and how they were all handmade with the few resources they had was a big part of the individuality and authenticity of slipknot in the beginning. now when we talk about the masks its more like haha corey taylor milk jug lololol
@RW1A3 жыл бұрын
@@ninin117 i mean after losing someone so close it kills you inside, i mean Corey still deals with Paul's death today so it makes sense why he doesn't want to bring up the family mentality after losing someone he considered a brother. I mean the new members eventually will get their spotlight and will be accepted in once the next album comes in- I do understand the brand thing, but most bands are like that, it just happens when you want to capitalize on your work. I mean they have worked for around 20 years in slipknot so its reasonable.

when I first started listening to metal I said to myself that i'm probably just going to stick with metallica, iron maiden and such. Bands like Slipknot were to satanic and heavy. Now one year later I basically only listen to Slipknot.
@Madchris88283 жыл бұрын
They have satanic symbolism at points but the band themselves don't believe in that crap. It's more just to scare parents and to be edgy Corey more or less said so much about Iowa. Iowa was a crazy period for them and they have thankfully gotten out of that faze with reportedly the only member still doing harder drugs being the dj

I don't know where you're getting this but Slipknot didn't exactly ever split up. They just put it on pause and that was between vol 3 and AHIG. Not prior to that or after the fact.. A decent video for sure but your getting some slight details wrong. Going on a break or focusing on other band projects isn't exactly seen as "splitting up" or "breaking up" they're literally just pausing it as touring with Slipknot can be extremely exhausting

.5 is definitely NOT watered down anything. That album is such an under-appreciated album and that actually pisses me off that CT would say that about the album that is supposed to be dedicated to Paul. I’m super happy for Jay and Alessandro for the fact that the band (probably mostly CT) stopped being childish. Quite contrary to the whole “we’re slipknot we’re always going to be changing our sound” I still love this band no matter what. But fuck I can’t stand how Corey could be so unprofessional in those interviews.
