As a very old school gamer I've always played games in their vanilla version since most mods I've seen in the past are about making games easier (god mode, endless credits/ammo/insert resource here). But talking with my son and his friends I've been educated that the mod community has become much more than that (even though those types of mods still are made). Cyberpunk will be the first game where I'll be playing the game modded from the start, as there looks to be many mods that are flat out improvements to aspects of the game. So thanks for this vid which is well paced, explains the process perfectly and gives me the confidence to rip straight into it 👍

If you mod a lot of games, and plan on modding games well into the future, it's worth paying the 80 bucks for the permanent premium on nexus. I did it a couple years after buying Skyrim waaaay back when, and I've downloaded several terabytes worth of data from the Nexus since then. So yeah, it's worth it in the long hall if you're a serious gamer and love modding.

i'm playing on linux, it is just as straightforward, just unziping in the game directory and it works.

if your going to get a lot of mods, use a mod manager. doing it manually makes it confusing especially if you need to delete some mods

I legit thought it was going to be confusing af ngl, ty very much for clarifying and assisting in my early modding endeavors. Was able to mod nioh 2 then palworld here n there but I wanna make cp2077pl something more than what it is...was an Xbox guy and was like naaahhhh I wanna play better games and customize them to my liking LEGALLY😂

Nice guide! Really concise, thank you. One thing, I have CET installed fine, but I'm not sure if redscript and red4ext goes into the bin folder as well? The description says directory, or does that just mean put it in common>Cyberpunk 2077?

If it says directory, then just drag and drop into the cyberpunk 2077 folder where the .exe is. If your copying over a bin folder, it’ll replace files anyway, so no need to go further than the directory at any point

I started looking at mods today, it's like this clothes mod requires mod 1,2,3,4 and 5. Then you look at mod 1 and that requires mod 6 and 7 and then that mod 4 requires mod 8 and 10 and so forth. Beyond pissed at this point, it's like going down a rabbit hole of mods and then you install 10 mods, something throws a error, you have no idea what file it is or what to do so it's time to delete some files, brick the game, verifying doesn't work because you deleted too much and it tells you to reinstall the game. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK THIS. I wanted spawn0 body and various clothes mods, at some point I managed to have the body and new clothes work, except I had to delete a file to get the game to start with the mods or it didn't apply scripts, which I think bugged the textures or w.e so the clothes and body mod didn't even work together.

And there is not any solution like manuel modding or ect. I dont wanna be a coder for just 2-3 mod. Thank god at least they're (cdprojecktred) adding mods in the base game and improving game experience.

@@talhamerttufan7140 I watched another video and it turns out REDmod and Redscript are not compatible, so to fix that you need CYBERCMD(which needs Cyber Engine Tweaks) that should get the ball rolling when they update everything to 2.1 now.

So when I started up the game I never set a key binding and now when I load up the game there’s no way for me to bring up my mod menu anymore. How can I go back and set a key binding so I can play with the mod menu!!!?

So take out the mod files from the game directory and boot up 2077 normally. Once it’s loaded in, close down the game and put the mod files back. When you next boot, the prompt should show on screen to select a bind.

My only question is that Ive heard plenty of people saying that modding becomes a nightmare when cyberpnk updates because the mods no longer works, so how would you deal with that?

Every game has that issue. The mod developer has to update their mod. When I install mods I check update history and post history to see if the mod author is active. If they haven't been active in a while, i don't use it.

@@t-train6723 Yeah i get that, it makes sense. And the check update history is a good tip too, I should keep that in mind. But say game just updated like recently, what do you do, like do you just delete the mod folder until the mod update and you just install the new one.

@@capt_miz1907I think you just install the new one and choose replace files. I’m not sure I’m just getting into modding right now, but that’s how I kept my mod menu updated in GTAV.

yeah, but just wandering, I got a mod called ModeratelyThickBody, cuz the name made me laugh my ass off, why Moderately, but anyway, does it just, happen in-game or will there be a pop-up that tells you that its worked? also there is a mod in your vid called NPC's gone wild that has nudity in it, just warning you incase someone else sees it and tries reporting the video...
