i've been going to mackinac island for the last 21 years for a day or two. the gardens are absolutely gorgeous and the hanging flower baskets are also beautiful. the island has a nice slower pace which i find peaceful. love hearing the clipity clop of the horses. i was on the island in august. i think i just missed the garden show. i was on the island around the same time that you guys were there.

What a Quant place . You could almost feel what it was like back in the day, when woman wore the big hats and men always dressed in suits. What a stunning setting by the sea . Jack has done such a fantastic job with the gardens. Thanks for taking us along. BONUS ... how fun was it to see Laura and her hubby again . I bet it was also relaxing, once you were able to sit down. I've always found, there's something about sleeping by water that really relaxes one's soul.

So Jenny-YOU are a star! Something lights up when you are around people, I saw it in the videos! I’m VERY excited you are now part of the Grand Garden Show! It was lovely to see you and Laura on stage together. I remember when Laura described how terrified she was to speak in front of a group of people, I think she is long past that now. Well , most of the time perhaps 🤔. You looked lovely in your frilly shouldered dress on the stairs with Jerry. Both yourself and Laura, as well as Jack, made me feel as though I were there too! It’s not a sea it’s a very large lake, actually Mackinaw Island is surrounded by Lakes Huron and Michigan. Michigan has 5 fresh water Great Lakes that come together, Michigan, Huron, Superior, Erie and Ontario. Lots of awesome history with these lakes.

It is a beautiful place and love hearing the clippty- clop of the horses. The movie - “Somewhere in Time”;With Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour was filmed there. After seeing that move, my husband and I visited there many times in the mid and late 1980’s/1990’s. The 8 mile bike ride around the island was well worth the time. Thanks for posting!

Even though we'd visited the island many times when we lived in Michigan, this was our first time staying at the Grand Hotel. Wow!!! It was so fun to see you and Jerry there. Loved both of your gorgeous dresses for the cocktail parties 😊 Yes, it was a bit of a journey to get to the island from Pinehurst, NC, but totally worth it! We just made this trip and flew from CLT to Detroit and then took a flight to Pellston MI. There we had a shuttle to Mackinaw City where we got the ferry. We used Mackinaw Shuttle and they were great - knew our flight number (it’s a small but very nice airport) and were right in the airport. They delivered us to Shepler’s Ferry. Was easier than I thought it would be! BTW, we stayed at the Iroquois and it was very nice! They were there at the ferry to meet us and our luggage was in our room when we got there.

It was my first time to Mackinac also. It was spectacular! The Grand Hotel, The Garden Tours, The Presentations. It was all so fun that I didn't even mind dressing up after 6 pm. ( jeans and tee-shirt gal here). I am already planning my next trip to Mackinac Island. Now that the word has spread even farther it will be harder to secure a spot when they announce the dates for next year.
