Thanks for this, the original mattress with the cut in the middle is a back and hip killer.

I agree 100%. It was a difficult $1000 to spend, but at this point DO NOT regret spending it. One of the best upgrades we've made.

Just wanted to say THANK YOU for the recommendation. We ordered the same bed with the exact measurements for our 2022 -MM FLX 2108DS and it arrived yesterday. You are correct it's a game changer!! Fits perfectly and wow what a great choice/decision. All your videos have been helpful but I have to say how thankful I am for this one!!!!

You have made my day. I LOVE hearing this from a subscriber. I am still...VERY happy with the purchase of this bed. While expensive, it's been well worth the investment.

What a cute, completely unexpected, opening! 😅 I just watched your "Would I buy this [2108DS] again" video and came over to learn more about your mattress upgrade. Great content, Rob. I had been feeling very negative towards Murphy beds, but your video made me give them another look.

Great video and great info! Thanks for taking the time to post that! Quick question... why have it hinge in two spots? If you hinge it at 41", couldn't you just fold the head end up against the bottom half, then lift the murphy bed up? It seems like the reason you need the 4" hinge is because the mattress is being pushed against the headboard, causing the lower end of the mattress to get pushed upward, preventing the murphy bed from closing. With one hinge (at approx 41"), you could fold the top of the mattress (the 33" portion) on top of the lower portion of the mattress prior to closing the murphy bed. This would allow the murphy be dto close without the 4" hinge. Is that correct? Or am I missing something?

Yes, that is absolutely correct. Indeed. The couple on a Facebook group for our camper model made the suggestion to hinge at the head as it eases the process of making the bed. I have found this to be accurate. I guess it's kinda one of those things that is 6 to one, half dozen to the other. I have found having that hinged at the top does in fact ease the bed making process, allows us to shove the bed forward and works all around. I think that second hinge added like 25 bucks to the overall purchase so I went ahead with it. But I do suspect your instinct is correct and one could just fold the bottom half over prior to lifting the bed up. I will say, and this is only my opinion of course, that folding the 33" section up on top of the lower may be a bit more challenging over all in the end run to get the job done. We appreciate you watching and commenting! Thank you!

Really like yourFLX videos….greatly appreciate.A couple of questions: 1)what year is your FLX? and 2)what is the dimension from the bottom of the side wardrobes to the base of the bed w/o any mattress (in your video it does not look like there is a lot of space between the top of the 8” mattress and the bottom of the wardrobe…I cannot check the dimensions on my 2022 2108DS FLX as I have a back problem which currently has be home bound and I cannot get to my trailer). I have checked out a few other mattress companies and have a quote from Tochta. Their product seems to be the best in my opinion. I have to order soon as our large family is coming to our farm for a week at Thanksgiving and one couple wants to stay in the camper. I’m 85 year old retired engineer and nervous able spending $1000+ without knowing the dimensions. We down sized so we can continue to travel…west in the fall and south and east in the winter (about 10-12weeks in total). Just got back from Glacier…hate the bed. Thanks for your help. Sorry so wordy.

Hi and thanks for watching. I have the 2022 model. The measurement you are asking about is 9". With the air spacer under the mattress it puts the mattress top about even with the bottom of wardrobe. We have very little, if any space there. Difficult to use the "nightstand". We, however, opted for that as a tradeoff to have as much mattress as possible.
