Nice deck! I love to see another take on Esper with artifacts! Looks like a great way to make use of those Esper sphinx fliers! It's also tempting to put Tezzeret, Master of the Bridge to use his ping ability for each artifact you control. Though the downside is the non-bo with the Immortal Sun!

how does protection interact with you targeting your own creatures? For example can you use master transmuter's ability if rebecc and a commander's sphere are on the battlefield?

Transmuter works fine because it is not an ability that states "target". Returning a creature is perfectly fine. Protection prevents targeting, attaching, damage, and blocking.

Transmuter will work because it does not target. i think whirler rouge will not work when u have a 4 cmc artifact

Love this!! I recently pulled apart my rebbec and Glacian deck to add in the black mana. Lots of fun. Is welding jar a nonbo? Since it’s an artifact that targets? Assuming Rebbec is out

It's to protect Silas. Once it gains protection you don't need to protect much anymore
