That is exactly why i love my gasifier, it's versatility. I am a stove addict but one stove I havent invested in is a remote canister. I really want to break down at some point and get the primus multifuel stove. It has a trangia type fuel bottle with a pump. Can even run diesel although would need a good cleaning afterwards I'd imagine. Not that i would ever use diesel but the option is nice. I do like using my trangia or sterno fuel in my gasifier too. Great informative video, Mike. TC and ATB, Cris.

I’m going to try charcoal briquettes tomorrow. You can buy compressed coconut fiber in many garden sections of big box stores. A 4 lb. block is $10 at Ace.

I use a Solo Stove Lite and always light the wood from the top. I do it the easy way. Put my sticks in the stove so they are below the top side holes. Then light a match size piece of Fat Wood ( Lighter Knot ) and lay it on top of the sticks. When that match size stick of fat wood burns down I have a fire going. Two other things I can do with the Solo Stove lite. The ash pan in it works as a alcohol burner for a quick ( 3 minute ) fire. For a longer , wood free , fire I set a Evernew Titanium alcohol burner in there. I use Denatured Alcohol when I am not using wood.

I hate smoke, I try to manage the "thermal mass" of my fires to keep smoke at a minimum. I like your recommendations, Just ordered FIRE BOOMS from Amazon , 24 pack for $21 with tax, BEST, also ordered the Bulin, Double BEST
@MIKESWILDWORLD2 ай бұрын
That’s awesome! You gonna love that Bulin! And lighting your big couldn’t be easier. When I’m in a popular park, it’s hard to find anything to burn. So this kinda solves that problem. Thanks for watching!

Why burn from the top down?
@MIKESWILDWORLD2 ай бұрын
Thank you. You are the first person to ask that. If the fuel is lit from the bottom it all catches fire at one time, creates a huge flame too big to cook on and consumes the wood very fast. Burning from the top is kinda like a large candle that burns down slowly and delivers a constant flame as it goes down making the wood last longer. Thanks for asking, and thanks for watching!! 😀
@papajeff54862 ай бұрын
Multi fuel gasification stoves are great, wood, alcohol, solid fuel, gas, all work. Gaaa, isn’t that cool. I gather thumb sized twigs, the correct length is important, holding them together, wrap them and insert them, vertically into the stove, like a Swiss log. They burn nicely and don’t need to be tended so quickly.
@MIKESWILDWORLD2 ай бұрын
That’s the best part about the right fuel loaded correctly. You can cook 15-20 minutes on one load. Then EAT! Thanks for watching!
